Winston awakens in the prison with Ampleforth, Parsons and a man named "2713 Bumstead J". Ampleforth was caught forgetting the word "god" out of a translation, Parsons was chewed out by his daughter when he mutters "down with big brother" in his sleep. The Bumstead man was beaten for giving food to a starving man. Many of the prisoners happened to be proles in the past; therefore it shows how the proles didn't have much freedom as some rebels believed.

Winston is in a prison with fifteen other people. There is a large woman that could be his mother and they both think about it. He meets a guy named Ampleworth, which got in trouble for leaving the name "GOD" in a poetry. Which eventfully got sent to room 101. Mr. Parson was there because his daughter ratted him out for saying "Down with big Brother". He met a man that was starving and watched a man that name was 2713 Bum stead J was beaten for feeding a starving man. Some of the people that were in there was proles. This shows that they aren't really that free as Winston thought. They get watched to by they government and they are controlled.

Winston is in prison, in prison with him are about 15 other men and people. Winston meets a guy named Ampleforth, he got in trouble for using the word god well he was writing poetry. Ampleforth was sent to room 101, which is one of the worst rooms.Another person in the prison was sent there because he was talking bad about the big brother. Another man was there because he was caught helping a man that was starving. Most of the people in the prison are just proles and they have nothing better to do with their low life. Winston though that they were more free then they really were. They will always have to be watched and controlled no matter what they are doing. I think that they are getting sent to the prison fro useless reasons and that they should be treated better then they are. The one guy was just trying to help the one man that was starving.

Winston is in the prison with a man who is starving to death, a fat guy with some cracker crumbs, parsons who got caught speaking "down with big brother" by his daughter, Ampleforth who couldn't remove god from a poem because nothing else rhymed well. They are punishing people for not liking big brother when they should be punishing people who are committing actual crimes that hurt people. No the proles aren't free because there are proles in the jail with them that if the government didn't care about them and let them be they wouldn't be there.

Winston is with around 15 other people while in prison. One of the guys named Ample forth is in trouble for using the word "God" in his poetry. Nothing else really fit besides that word so he couldn't get rid of it. They are punishing them for going against big brother or not liking him instead of punishing people who have actually commited crimes. Most of the people in prison are proles that don't have as much freedom as Winston previously thought. They are also constantly watched by the government and just as controlled as everyone else is.
