I felt an immediate connection to the course because of its relevance to my educational background and my role as a computer science teacher. The course aligns with my belief that IT and emerging technologies have transformative potential in education especially in the classroom. These tools open up endless opportunities for students to learn more effectively compare to the chalk and talk version.

As a teacher in the 21st century, I see this course as a stepping stone to becoming a more innovative educator who can leverage technology in the classroom. I am eager to explore how to effectively integrate emerging technologies into my teaching practices. I want to equip myself with strategies to make learning more accessible, engaging, and impactful for my students.

I love cats but I don't know have one because of the traveling I have to do every holiday as I am currently working in MRSM Tun Ghazali Shafie, Pahang.

I am a passionate educator with a strong background in computer science. I have 5 years of working experiences in education field. I am Teach For Malaysia Alumni. My teaching philosophy is inspired by the idea of fostering creativity and curiosity in the classroom.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time close to nature through hobbies like hiking, camping, and gardening, which help me relax and feel connected to the world.

What makes it more interesting is that almost all of the apps available can be use for free, but with limited features access. Teachers can explore what applications works well for them based on their subjects. This is because teachers can now cater to individual student needs by analyzing data on performance and adapting lessons according to their students needs.

What makes it more exciting is that we are experiencing rapid development of technology in the education field where the younger generation are able to keep up with the technology. And not only it assist teachers in lesson deliverance, but also help teacher in making the prosess of assessment easier and faster. As a teacher myself, technology have helped me greatly

For this week, we learn about emerging technologies and future trends. We learn about AI, VR/AR ,adaptive learning and gamification in education.

In educational technology ,i have used some of the technology listed such as Learning management systems (LMS) which is a platforms that provide a centralized location for course materials, communication, and assessments. I was introduce to LMS in UPTM. I also have use some Educational apps which is software applications designed to support learning and engagement. I used mentimeter and kahoot a lot in my classroom's . For online assessment I use Quizizz and Kahoot as it gave results immediately so it help is assessing the students understanding of the lesson. Other than that, MRSM also have esspng as it record students exam marks.

I rarely use Social media, Video Conferencing and Interactive whiteboards in my classroom but I am open to explore.

1. Lack to training and generational gap in use of technology in education.

   Teachers, especially those from the baby boomer generation often face greater challenges in adapting to new technologies because they were not widely exposed to IT during their earlier years. This can make them feel overwhelmed, especially if they perceive technology as complicating their teaching processes, as they are accustomed to traditional teaching methods. Many teachers resort to self-learning to navigate these changes but they often lack sufficient training and support to effectively integrate technology into their classrooms.

   
   

2. Screen Time and Student Well-being

   In my school, students can bring their own I-Pad. So they rely 100% on that gadgets. For example, if I ask them to brainstorm ideas, their first step is to google without trying to use their prior knowledge first. They also struggle to collaborate with peers as if they became "handicap" without gadgets.

   
   

   Besides that, excessive screen time is also impacting students’ overall well-being and academic performance. I’ve observed cases where students struggle to focus in class due to their attachment to their gadgets. One particular student in my MRSM exhibits signs of screen addiction and makes it difficult for him to pay attention during lessons. To address this, I implemented a rule banning the use of iPad in my classroom as we already have PC in the laboratory. However, this resulted in visible discomfort where he frequently asked for his device and struggled to adapt without it. The issue extended beyond the classroom, as he began sleeping less, spending most of his free time on his iPad.

   This experience highlights the urgent need to educate students on responsible gadget use and foster a balance between technology and traditional learning approaches. It also emphasizes the importance of setting boundaries to help students regain focus and develop healthier habits.

There are 6 learning strategies which are Visual Learning Strategies, Auditory Learning Strategies, Kinaesthetic Learning Strategies, Mnemonic Devices, Metacognitive Strategies, and Inquiry-Based Learning Strategies. Among these strategies, I do believe that I did use Visual Learning Strategies, Auditory Learning Strategies, Kinaesthetic Learning Strategies as majority of my students are visual, auditory and kinesthatic learner. I do love to explore Metacognitive strategies as it involves helping students become aware of their own thinking processes and learning strategies. These strategies may include reflection, self-assessment, and goal setting. This is because science Computer is a subject that require students to think critically in the learning proses with the assist of technologies.

Regarding the types of learning strategies for digital classroom, I do believe that project based learning works well with computer science subject. This is because project based approach engages learners in an active, hands-on experience relevant to their lives. This strategy also promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills, which are essential for success in the 21st century. It also allows learners to develop important life skills, such as time management, project planning, and leadership.

We received new knowledge of new tools and technology that can be use in our class. But there are things that we as a tecaher need to consider when we want to emerge the use of technologies n our classroom.

1. Cost: how can we do to reduce the cost?

   Convince the gatekeeper ( pengetua, Timbalan Pengetua) that the technology used will help in enhancing the students learning capabilities . It is all about delivering the knowledge the best that we as a teacher can. Therefore, when we see that there are technologies that can help our students, please come up with proposal, paperwork and please pitch the idea needed to our gatekeeper. This is because all these technologies have "cooperate" account where the price is more affordable.

2. Curriculum Integration. How suitable is the technology with the curriculum taught in the classroom? The more challenging your subject is the more adaptable and suitable the apps should be.

3. Training and readyness. How ready are you to learn the new technology as everything comes from you. Therefore, teachers must be ready to learn as the usefulness lness, impact that the Technology brings all come from teachers and how it is implemented.

4. Technically challenges and support. If you want to integrate the technology, how can you gain knowledgable and skill in using the technologies

5. Availability of the apps. For example you want to use more complex technologies but your school in an area that only have limited internet connection, the technologies will not be suitable for you even if it has all the features.

6. Students achievement and impact. Did the technology used bring any advantages and impact to your students? As a teacher, you need to be able to make analysis and judgement with whatever you use in your classroom.

7. Equity and inclusion. Some students with disadvantages should be able to receive the same support as their friends . Therefore, you need to make sure your students can use the technologies that support inclusiveness especially in you classroom.
