In my class, we use google platform, for searching informations. In pre school education, we dont allow to pupils to have access in social media platform, without guidance.
So it is very difficult to use the checklist, because pupils dont use those terms.

My students have, at least most of them, whatsapp on their smartphones and they use it substantially. I found quite easily the T&C and I think it is mostly understable, even though not so much about complaints; it is also clear about abuse and inappropriate content but I didn't find mention of cyberbullying.

John Kourous (GR) I do not think there are many who read the terms and conditions. They usually know these terms that are required to access e.g. the age. From the discussions that have been made most pupils know to Block or report.

I think most of my students use Whatsapp, Skype and Facebook. However I doubt how many actually read the Terms & Conditions or are even aware of what they are agreeing to upon subscribing. Parents should perhaps also be made aware of this information so they can better guide their children to be responsible and safe users.

I don´t teach any classes so I do it for my self and use Facebook as an example of their Terms & Conditions.

When it comes to the common rules for using Facebook they are described very good in Swedish on Facebooks homepage. They have different headlines you can follow and their language is quit simple to understand. Not a hard page to follow the common rules they have.

I find the same way when it comes to report a case or other thing to Facebook. It is described in Swedish in a easy understable way.

But I know for practice that it can be very hard to get Facebook to get rid of publications made on Facebook by some person and for organizations that wants to get hold on some publication made on Facebook. It can be real tricky to get this.

A great example is when 3 young boys live streamed a rape on a girl last autumn in Uppsala, Sweden. While the boys rape the girl they stream it out on Facebook live. The police in Sweden had lots of problems when they wanted the see the archived file from Facebook. Many months later the police got the files which could be used in court when the boys met the law. This was and is an awful case which I hope never will occur again.

A survey among various classes in my school said that all the most important social media are used by youngs.
But none of the students I interviewed had read the terms and conditions of use. Maybe these terms are written in a difficult way, not easily understandable by youngs, but it's also true that they are not interested in them.

My students are still very young to use social media platforms. Many teens in my country use Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Twitter, Skype and Snapchat. Understanding the Terms and Conditions can be a challenging process. Many users find it too long to read. Many just scan it quickly. Not all social media platforms mention cyberbullying and hate speech.

As an eTwinner I use the protected platform of the Twinspace to share content created between the participant countries while developing a project. They do not pay attention to the T&C. I think they are not responsible users. They are nor aware of different hidden problems of these apps. To tell the truth, I don't know much about T&C of the media I often use.

I work in a primary school (first class) and my young students still do not use social media. I have already started a process of teaching-learning that has developed into each of them the critical thinking that will surely help me to introduce social media in all their aspects. The goal is to put them in the state of being able to abandon the useful information and not consider the damaging ones for their growth as people.

I am not a teacher at school but since I visit schools for the workshops for internet safety I have formed an idea about which platforms students use. Those in high school use mainly facebook. Most of them know the difference between public and private profile and have the skills to create one. They also know how to block or report, though they are afraid that the person they block will find out somehow. They usually do not read the terms of use.

Our school carry out a survey on a particular topic each year among pupils and parents. In 2014, we conducted a survey entitled 'Use of ICT in school'. The pupils were asked about:

- what devices they use

- how much time they spend on these devices

- for which purposes they use these devices

- which applications they used ...

The most commonly used social media platforms among our pupils are Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp.

Almost all the students in my school use Facebook, but none of them has read the T and C. I can say that that information is difficult to find on facebook, I could not find anything about cyberbullying, they only ask to be polite, not to post anything hateful. If you find something disturbing, report. They will investigate, and in case it breaks T and C, they will erase it.

I chose YT because it is one of the most used social platform among adolescents. Terms and conditions are quite easy to find, they are very clear and use a simple language, they cover a large number of topics including online hate. I reviewed the terms and conditions of Instagram which were fairly easy to find from the login page but no so easy to understand. It was very unclear what one should do to make a complaint and nothing was mentioned what they would do if a complaint was received. Online conduct is mentioned and so is bullying and the same goes for inappropriate conduct. Community guidlines are mentioned in this section https://help.instagram.com/477434105621119/ and Respect is one of the first things mentioned.

I chose WhatsApp, as it’s the most popular among my students at the moment. First of all, the terms of service cannot be found in Finnish and are therefore a bit difficult to understand at least amongst the youth. Legal and acceptable use are required, but there was no mention specifically of hate speech or cyberbullying. Making complaints was explained ok, but there were no specific guidelines for Finnish users. I suppose there were no community outlines either at least on the Finnish WhatsApp pages.

Ii is not possible to use the questionnaire with my students as we are in the an examination period but I have talked about "reading the Terms and Condition" with my students and they all believe that they have no other choice but accepting them. My pupils chose Facebook. They filled the checklist/questionnaire and the most noticeable points were:
50% of my pupils found difficult to understand the T&C
60% was not sure if cyberbulling was mentioned
50% was not sure if Facebook included anything else which tells you what kind of content is encouraged.
