The poem I chose is about how being poor is not from your gene, or from your father. It's not traced in your hand. No one chooses to be poor- comparing being poor to being a burglar and what it leaves behind. For example uses the words `` no one choose to go out daily alive with hunger" and `` leaving behind only the form, the shape the shadows of what we are."

The picture book, Last Stop on Market, challenges many stereotypes about being poor. For example, in the story, the boy is not happy with what he has as you would expect, but his grandma is happy and is greatful with what she has.The author seems to suggest that poor poeple aren't always sad of how they are living. Another assumption that is being challenged is the idea that poor people don't always wish they could change their lives.

In the story Ghost by Jason Reynolds, the issue is poverty, and the gerne is non fiction. Castle, the son, is the main character. He is stuborn, hard working, and cocky. For example, when he was first watching the track team run, no one could beat this kid name Lu. Castle said he could, and he did. Castle or ``ghost'' is okay with being poor. In fact, he decided to cut the tops off of his shoes because they were slowing him down and he couldn't afford the track shoes.

Cold Weather Across America Is Over Whelming Homeless Shelters

In the non fiction article cold weather across America is over whelming homeless shelters is about how in the winter time it gets cold which means more homeless shelters get crowded. Half of homeless people are young adults, and are homeless because some have bad situations at home and others have had a hard time looking for a job and a place to live. For example, ``people are volunteering more at these shelters but they are still in need of a lot of things." Another one is ''1 out of 10 homeless people are young adults, a young adult is someone 18 to 25 years old." Finally, '' Homeless people are young, it's more common than people expect, and it's largely hidden." Even though people volunteer, it's still very common that they need more people and supplies and that that shelters get crowed.
