I think "tank man" hoped to show just how much courage and power the average, peaceful protester had against such a large force- the Communist Chinese army.  

2. When looking at this photo, I think of how courageous this man was.  It helps to know the context.  Without context, I'd probably think "wow, he is a stupid guy for doing that."

3. I think that little is known of the man because he was not fighting for attention of the masses.  He was fighting to stop the Communist control in China.  

4. I think the "tank man" wanted to prove a point of how the people can stand up to the government. 

2. The words that come to mind when I look at this photo are courage and pride. 

3. I think little is known about the man because of Chinese censorship. Very little is known about Tiananmen square because of the Chinese government trying to cover the incident up.

2: I think of determination, courage, persistence, and strength.

4: I think this became an iconic photo because it was something dangerous, but it was also brave.
