- Social Injustice is something that still happens in today but pretty much forgotten
- This movie shows exactly that. How the rich people can get away with any crime but if a person of colour was to do the same crime, they would get arrested and put on death row because of the racism in the country doesn't give them any legal representation. This is shown many times in the movie such as when Bryan is talking to Mr. Davis about the Southern Prisoners' Defense Committee unable to provide him with a lawyer.

In this movie, the law favoured the majority in the country, white Americans. The people of colour were pretty much being oppressed by the law and everything that they tried to say was used against them which is seen throughout the movie. In this movie the law was more against the people of colour no matter if they were right or wrong; a good example of this is Walter's case. Put on death row for a crime he did not commit.
