"How could you allow your sister to fall from that height?"

My mother's eyes of anger pierced through me. Her words were laced with disappointment and anger. I hated that accusation. Whenever something goes wrong in the house, it was always my fault.

I always imagined how life would be if I were not the oldest child. The burden constantly overwhelms me and I always find it unfair that I have to make up for my siblings' shortcomings and stupidity.

Seething, I looked straight into those pair of eyes. I considered telling her that it was my sister's folly and stubbornness that caused her to fall, and that she had repeatedly ignored my call to come down and go down the slide like all the other children.

"She deserved it anyway." I retorted indignantly.

Her face was flushed red with anger, eyebrows furrowed as her hand slammed the table top of my desk. “At this rate, roast pork will be more useful than you!” She screamed. I looked up at her with annoyed eyes, filled with angry tears and hurt. I was already trying my best. What more does she want of me? It’s always my fault. I can’t meet her expectations of me. I immediately turned away, not allowing her to see the tears that fell from my eyes, and giving her the impression that I just didn’t care what she was saying. Giving one last huff of frustration, she stormed out of my room, leaving an angry trail behind her and slamming my door shut. Even though my room was across the corridor from hers, I still heard her bedroom door close loudly. When it did, I let the tears fall freely.

Her needly voice echoed in my mind, warning me against going out tomorrow. I scoffed indigniantly. What did she know? Anger coursed through my veins as I slammed the door behind her and threw myself onto my bed, silently fuming. She was still ranting outside my door, and I growled low in my throat, frustratedly slamming my fist into my bed repeatedly. Our voices as one, progressively grew louder and louder.

1. I had an agreement with my mother as i wanted to attend my friend’s birthday party but she did not allow me to. I asked her politely but she felt that it was a waste of time, i thought it was not acceptable and i hated the reason so i shouted unreasonably. She got so angry with the way i acted as she stormed out of the room. At that moment, I realised i should not have acted this way.

2. I wanted to go out during the weekends with Jazlyn to shop for new year clothes as the new year was just around the corner. She rejected me nicely and told me that the amount of homework overwhelmed her. She realised that it was not so nice of her to reject me this way so she promised to hang out with me the next time. I understood her intentions and followed her decision.

3. During a study date with my friend Hayley, she introduced her friend to me and asked if it was alright if she could join us. While Hayley introduced her, I felt as if i knew her friend for quite sometime. After knowing more about her, I got curious and asked her if we have met before, she instantly said, “no” and I felt so embarrassed. She then realised that I was talking about her twin sister and started talking about the time when i met her sister and knew more about each other.

My mind was still in a daze from the quick, argument with her. I let out a shuddering breath, as I placed a shaky hand on my racing heart. The whole incident happened so fast that it didn’t register in my mind what I had said. Sorry Mother, for I shall consume you too tonight.

I anxiously tapped my foot, anticipating the notification from my friend. “Ding!” the notification sound, my whole being was overwhelmed with excitement, as I considered the possible responses.

1: I had gotten into a heated arguement with my mother because she found out I had lied to her. After she stormed out of the room, I immediately regretted my actions, and felt embarrassed. I realised that I was in the wrong and decided to apologise.
2: I woke up to my mother hysterically screaming at me. She threw a pile of papers on the floor aggressively. I looked at the the pile of papers and immediately understood her fury.the heated argument finally came to an end when she glared at me with beady eyes and I knew she was cantankerous.

I should not have screamed at her. It was my fault. I was the one who sneaked out at the middle of the night without her permission. I don't understand what had gotten over me. I should not have screamed at her. After all she is my mother. I hated the fact that it was my fault yet I screamed at her badly.

1. As my mother bellowed angrily, she crossed her arms, stared at me with her crimson red eyes before stomping out if my room, down the hallway. Then, I realised that I made a grave mistake and needed to fix the situation as soon as possible. Back then, I suspected that it was my brother that spoilt the surprise.....how I wish I could turn back time to the time when it was the turn of events.
