I know this because millions of black Americans were moving to the north to escape the horrible treatment in the south. Slavery was over, but they still did not have equal rights and were treated terribly by the white people in southern states. So, many people moved away and that's important because black Americans were treated better in the north and they had better housing. It changed the whole country.

I know I am correct because I know that many people moved and it was very important.

Also if The Great Migration did not happen, we would not have all the good artists sculptors, and writers we have to day. Also if the immigrants did not move to the north, the north would not have as much population too.

The Great Migration is one of the most important events in American history because the black people went there because they THOUGHT that they would get treated better. But they did not. Actually, they actually treated the same. It is not hard to leave your homes, so they left for a good reason. That reason is: they were getting treated badly. Although some of them stayed because the white people were so despite.
