I am thinking about the ideas that Power is incredibly hard to go against. How do we as teachers go take a stand against injustice, and continue on even if those in power strongly push back... so much so that it potentially puts your job at risk. Is it a position of power in itself to be able to back off if things get "risky"? Ex: what can an expat teacher get away with that a local teacher probably couldn't...

When we think about abolitionist teaching, it is about dismantling power structures that oppress different populations in society. Based on what I have seen happen to social leaders and activists in Colombia doing this work, and the apparent resistance to social change by the leadership, how well received would these ideas be in the context of the school? How can we educate parents and leaders to make things better for everyone in the country?

When I hear different scholars talking about "White supremacy" and anti-racism, I wonder if they are also thinking about other races, rather than just black people being oppressed by white people. I see few of them that consider anti racism general for all races, all human kind. Perhaps I need to read more and deeper, since this is a whole new world for me.
