This article was very interesting; it talks about how sexual assault and harassment are spiking, but victims are not speaking out because they are scared of consequences like losing their jobs. The article highlights how when women speak out, it's usually them getting in trouble, but not the man. I included this in the padlet because I want to show the statistics on people being scared so we as a society can fix this

link:https://www.raliance.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/MeToo-Report-Press-Release-Final.pdf

key take aways

1: Sexual harassment typically occurs in public spaces, such as streets, parks, libraries, and swimming pools; 73% of women and 24% of men report harassment in a public space.

2: Most people (87% of women and 89% of men) reporting sexual harassment or assault in the past 12 months did not talk to anyone about the experience.

This article was an analysis of 3 cases of sexual harassment in a workplace in 2024. It discusses legal outcomes and the victims stories. I choose this article because it shows even after the Me Too movement and HR in workplaces, women still don't feel comfortable speaking out about harassment. Women should be able to work in peace without feeling like they're going to be harassed.

link: https://worknest.com/blog/sexual-harassment-in-the-workplace-3-significant-cases-from-2024/?

key take aways

1: all the men who were convicted of the harrassment were rejected by the women first than retaliated with the sexual harrassement

2: All the HR Department's and employers changed there work policies after the womens cases.

This article highlights how landlords sexually harass their female tenants, especially the vulnerable ones. They prey on the single moms and women and sexually harass them and then try to cover it up by bringing their rent down for the next month. This is abuse of power. I choose this article because this has happened to my friend's mother, and I'm glad there are articles bringing awareness to this.

There were several links I read 4 of them, but this is where I'm using the information I wrote my Padlet from. link:https://www.justice.gov/archives/opa/pr/justice-department-secures-agreement-sexual-harassment-lawsuit-against-michigan-rental

key take aways

1: this article highlights the tenants rights to protect them from sexual misconduct from landlords

2: the article has support systems such as tip lines and report links that you can report the landlord to.
