One of the pros is that you can earn money earlier and can get independent easier. One of the cons of skipping your study is that if you want to work they ask for your certificate and you have to say I only have that for secondary school and the chances are higher that he will say we will search for another one. A few cons  are that when you skip higher education you are limited with the jobs that you choose from. When you have a job you will probably do the same thing over and over again, and this could get really boring.
A pro is that you don’t have to spend all those years learning, but instead you have a job which will get you money. You will get paid less, but you worked all those and made money and the people in university learned and studied for tests and all.

pros:
  • most of the time you study less if you skip higher education which means you start working earlier than others.
  • With SOME jobs in lower education you can make way more money than higher education. So you study less and earn more.

cons: 
  • the lower education could be way too easy for you, which most of the time isn’t fun. For example! if you do vwo and you want to do mbo this could be way too easy for you and you’re actually wasting your time. It would be better to do just a higher education then.
  • There also aren’t a lot jobs to choose from.

Personally I think it’s far more valuable to be in good health instead of having a lot of money. But learning a trade has some advantages that you may not have if you seek higher education, there is always need for people, it pays quite well and your work hours can be quite flexible. Though it still depends, because you can study for something which still has a great need for people, pays very well and offers flexible hours. It’s a very complicated thing to think about, which is why I think that you should look at all the options you’re interested in, if one of those interests gives you what you need, stability, flexibility, money, health, joy or anything you seek for in a job, it shouldn’t matter what you choose. It doesn’t matter if it’s a trade or higher education, living off of your parents’ money or winning the lottery, travelling with barely any money or selling drugs, actually that does matter but you get the point. 3. learning things by yourself may help you remember it long-term.
4. it saves time
5. being able to develop as a person, without having people of your age surrounding you setting standards.

cons:
1. you cant easily get a professional job
2. lack of motivation
3. you’re not financially prepared

Many people enter a higher education because they want a good career after completing their studies. But choosing a higher education might not be the right path for everyone…

Pros and cons of a higher education:

Pros

  1. Studying in a university is a great way to develop your knowledge.
  2. By entering a higher education, you will certainly increase your earning potential.
  3. Many students decide to attend a university way from their families, So basically they will experience living on their own.

Cons

  1. A higher education costs of course a lot of money.
  2. When you enter a higher education, you are responsible for your own work.
  3. You may not gain any practical experience, since it is mostly research.
And so, people sometimes choose to skip a higher education and start to work earlier than people with a higher education.

  • What do we like to do
  • What are we good at 
  • What is the best choice financially

Deciding what you like, is, for many people, not a problem. Neither is deciding what you’re good at. That leaves us with the third and last question: what is the best choice financially? The first thing that comes to mind would be going to college, and eventually employing for a job with an average salary. You won’t depend on the succes of the company, because you will get paid anyway. However, this might not be the best choice. 
Consider skipping college and learning a trade: 

  • You won’t have to pay for college
  • You can spend the money saved for college by investing in particular trades. 
  • You will be dependent on your own succes, which can have it’s downsides, of course, but if business goes well, you won’t have to share the money with your co-workers

This proves that skipping college is not such a bad decision after all.

  1. you become an expert in the subject you love

for a person who has to know everything about a certain subject, university could be for you. in the 3 to 4 years of your study, you can become an expert in your chosen subject. 

  1. university can prepare you for a specific career path

some jobs require a university degree. for example if you want to be a doctor, you’ll need to go to university. 

  1. graduates earn more

graduates earn on average 35% more than school leavers. this is just a number, because it depends on what course and university you choose and the career path you would like to pursue.
 

cons

  1. you’ll leave with a lot of debt

alot of graduates leave university with a lot of debt. you’ll need to earn a big amount of money to start repaying your student loan and the remaining loan will be written off if you don’t repay after 30 years 

  1. you’ll be committing at least 3 years of your life
most studies last at least 3 years. you’ll have to think about whether you want to work in a paid job or dedicate yourself to years of study, work and exams

  1. you’re not guaranteed a graduate job

a lot of graduates do not do a graduate job. This does not mean they will never do a graduate job, their degree may still have helped them get that job.
