5th December 2016

Why do people migrate?

People migrate for several reasons. Some people move to find a job or follow a particular career path. Someone moves for a better quality of life or to be closer to family or friends. Some others escape from political persecution or war or natural disasters . So, migration can be a choice or you can be forced to migrate. I will also try to travel a lot to improve my qualifications, including my lenguage skills. When I travel I like to have a full immersion in the culture, uses and food of the place!

8th December 2017

Imagine you are a pupil at Dotheboys Hall

Hi mom and dad. I don't know how ti start my letter and I don't know if you'll recieve it but I hope that you will read it as soon as possible. The school has very little badrooms but there are lots of children here, so I have to sleep with other fifteen pupils. If we don't do all our homeworks or if we stay rudely we eat nothing for dinner. We always eat only a little and it's all cold despite outside it's really cold too. A girl yesterday fainted and I lost weight too. The boys haven't regular lessons: they do jobs for Squeers for school and its garden all day. Squeers beat us for all the small things...as when I left a piece of paper in my bed. Please come here and take me back home, you have to say it to all the others parents too. Please come here soon. Alice.

Who or what would you take, and why?

I would take with me a knife handy: useful for several applications. For example you can open coconut, make spears for fishing, if the knife is big enough, like a machete, you can even use it to cut wood for your shelter and camp fires.

Sunscreen could be my second most important thing to bring along to a desert island: it allows you to avoid getting hopelessly burned straight at the beginning and desensitized enough to not burn after a few minutes under the sun.

I'd bring a water filter to drink, hydatating and wash myself.

Certainly I wouldn't take one of my friends because thought I'd miss them I'll never want them to suffer...but maybe I'd bring a strong young man to help and defend me or a Boy Scout for starting fires, telling stories and other forms of entertainment and planning the exit strategy.

Finally I'd take some cans of beans: you could eat the beans and than use the can ad a recipe or as a pot to cook.

24 th January 2017
Email to a newspaper about the traffic.

I'm writing because traffic problem is increasing ever more.

Road accidents are increasing day by day.More and more traffic jam can be seen which is making the situation more critical. It causes great inconvenience to passengers of buses, trams, motor cars and taxis and also to the pedestrians.

In addition to there is another big problem: the noise pollution's one, especially in areas located near houses, parks or hospitals. Buses stopping here and there, autos coming and going through and into every corner and side of the traffic imaginable.

I think that we have definitely got a problem here, that we can solve travelling by carpool, vanpool, bus, bike, train, walking or driving alone. Bus and bike routes are just a click away!
To handle this situation, the government should allocate suitably , for instance some unviersity or office will be moved to the outskirt of city. It is necessary to encourage poeple obey the traffic rules which will make greatly change the problem of traffic.

12th January 2017
No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark-Wasar Shine
Wasar Shine was born in Kenya and went to Britain with her Somaly parents at the age of one. Now 27, she has a degree in creative writing and lives in London, having win Brunnell Universities Inaugural African Poetry Price un 2013. She had theb won numerous awards. She teaches, she conducts workshop and works as a poetry editor. In her poem "Home" she explains, in short verses, the unthinkable choices refugees must take. She said
"no one puts their children in a boat
unless the water is safer than the land".
She wrote the poem for the undocumented refugee in Europe, for her family and for every one who has experienced or lived around grief and trauma in that way. No one lives home if the hurt that will come is greater than the hurt that they will leave behind. No one leaves if the ocean will swallow them up. No one leaves home if there is a place because you leave part of you, where you come from and half of you is rejected when you arrived. These weeks the press has been full of dolorous images. Sadly, these images are just the tip of the iceberg and highlight something that's been going on for far to long. It is not acceptable that people are dying and safe their Iives and those of their loved ones.

6th January 2017
Eden Project
Eden is famous for its Biomes, the world’s largest greenhouses which nestle in a giant 50 metre deep crater the size of 30 football pitches, forming the centrepiece of a spectacular global garden. Opened in 2001, the Eden Project’s central theme is the global environment with the two large domes (Rainforest and Mediterranean) offering natural arrangements of typical plants (over 250, 000 of them) in, respectively, an authentically steamy tropical setting and a temperate, Mediterranean environment. The complex includes colorful outdoors plantes areas and bizarre sculptures well as entertaining educational facilities that encourage visitors to understand the essential relationship between people and plants around the world. The massive amounts of water required to create the humid conditions of the Tropical Biome, and to serve the toilet facilities, are all sanitised rain water that would otherwise collect at the bottom of the quarry. The only man is water used is for hand washing and for cooking. The complex also uses Green Tariff Electricity – the energy comes from one of the many wind turbines in Cornwall, which were among the first in Europe.

1th May 2017
Emmeline Pankhurst
In the park nearThe House of Parliament in London there is the statue of Emmeline Pankhurst. She was one of the Suffragettes. She was born in 1858 and in that period women still could not vote. She was only 14 years old when she joined a fight for women's vote it was called "Suffragettes". At the age of 21 she married a lawyer, but unfortunately he died in 1898. In 1903 Emmeline with her daughter started a new campaign called " The Women Social Union". In 1908 there was a big demonstration for women's rights but nothing changed. Then she decided that the best way to win voted for women was during civil disabbedience. In 1920 the police arrested 156 women and they still did not get the vote. Emmeline had 20 hide from the police because a part of the population of Britain didn't accept their campaign. During the First World War (1914) the campaign stopped and the world government changed the lows and women over 40 years old could vote. Sadly she died in June 1928 a month later all the women could finally vote an men.
