Independent floating islands in Turnalar Lake in Hazarşah village Aksakal hamlet of Solhan district of Bingöl welcome visitors from both abroad and neighboring provinces. The lake, which is on a flat ground surrounded by mountains and hills on 3 sides, has 3 islands floating independently of each other under the influence of the wind.

The islands with a depth of more than 50 meters were declared 'natural monuments' in 2005 and were taken under protection. In the first 7 months of 2022, approximately 20 thousand people visited the floating islands, which are among the symbols of the city. Of the total area of the reservation of 580,000 ha, more than half (312,440 ha) are the aquatic and terrestrial natural ecosystems included in the list of areas with universal heritage value (Universal natural Heritage Convention).

Plitvice lakes is a national park that is a world-renowned national park adorned with imposing lakes created from a relif that continuous to change its shape, and thus appearance of the park. The Plitvice Lakes are located in the eastern part of Lika between two mountains: Mala Kapela and Lika Plješivice.The lakes are not located at a very high altitude and are completely integrated into the mountain-forest environment. Many say that these lakes look just like they belong in this beautiful depression. It represents a forested mountain region where there are 16 lakes of different sizes, filled with crystal blue water. It is the largest, oldest and most visited Croatian national park.

A water lily lake in Băile 1 Mai, unique in the world, has dried up. An entire ecosystem has disappeared: water lilies, fish and snails of rare species. A few years ago, this was a fabulous place, like something out of a fairy tale. The lake is more like a puddle. More than three-quarters of its lustre has disappeared, and with it, unique species such as the thermal water lily, the Racovia's tomato and the Melanopsis snail.
The thermal water lily, unique in that it is a tropical plant that has adapted to temperate climates, has been saved.
It can be admired a few kilometres further on at Băile Felix. In order not to disappear, it is always guarded by a hunter.
It is one of the most important protected areas in Romania, on the verge of extinction.
