Travis and his sister Corey are staying at a Vermont inn with with their grandma and at the Vermont inn there are ghosts that are haunting Corey and Travis because they where pulling pranks on the guests and that awakened the ghosts that were there. Now Travis and Corey have to end what they started and put all the ghosts away and. Travis character trait would be, fearless because in the text it states, “Corey covers her face with her hands, but I stared into the darkness so hard my eyes stung. This proves that he wasn’t scared of losing an eye or just getting hurt in general. This also proves that he will put his life on the line just to see the ghosts that where haunting him and his sister and everybody at the Vermont inn.

“Live a good life and die a good death.” (Downing Hahn 137) Inference: I infer that this is a connection with the lovely bad ones because they all did bad things in their past and now that they are dead they are not living a very happy afterlife because of the things that they did in the past. So now their past haunts them for the rest of all of their lives. But say if you did good things and helped people then you would die a good death not a bad one. Strong thoughts: I think everybody should at least do one good thing in their life that they will remember their whole life so everybody can live a good life and die a good death.

Unanswered questions: One unanswered question is what would have happened if Corey and Travis went home to their parents and just left the ghosts at the inn. (Downing Hahn 75) “She could chase off psy-chics, she could make me clean my room, she could pretend last night didn’t happened-she could even send Corey and me back to New York-but the ghosts were here, and they weren’t leaving.”

Language of the discipline: “We're the bad ones, the lovely bad ones, the bad, bad, bad ones.” (Downing Hahn 86)This phrase the lovely bad ones refers to the ghost children and they are called the lovely bad ones because of the bad things they did.

Changes over time: (Downing Hahn 181) “Oh, I don’t think there’s any danger of my forgetting you” One change that happen in the book was Corey and Travis grandma. In the beginning of the book she didn’t believe in any ghost but now that she knows the lovely bad ones she now like them and when they leave she misses them and that something that Corey and Travis grandma would do.

Ethics: (Downing Hahn 180) “Grandmother lifted a handful of coins and let them run through her finger, clinkety-clink.” Something that the lovely bad ones wanted grandmother to do is to keep the coins to her self but grandmother said that would be a bad thing to do. Instead of doing that she did something good and she put the money in good cause to the Habitat for Humanity.

Multiple perspectives: (Downing Hahn 86) “Corey cried out in pain and stumbled backward, Hold-ing her cheek, the skin red from a slap.” All the ghost children thought it has funny to hurt Corey and Travis. But Corey and Travis thought it was deadly because the ghosts were slapping Corey in the face.

Details: “In the coffin’s darkness, I saw a skull, tangles of hair, and rags of clothing.”(Downing Hahn 156) Corey was describing in detail how Miss Ada looked like.
