1. Adab in seeking knowledge

   We learn that education in Islam does not only instill right knowledge to the us, but also trains us to properly act in accord to get the knowledge with blessings. First of all, we need to set our niat to seek knowledge because of Allah and not for others. Next, we should strive earnestly by emulating the earnestness of the prophets and messengers in jihad. After that, we need to tawakkal on any results we got so that we'll be grateful.

   
   

2. Al-quran is the guidance

   we learn that Quran is the central religious text of Islam. It represents the fountainhead of Divine guidance for every Muslim. Lastly, The Quran teaches the Oneness of Allah.

   
   

3. What is the importance of niat in learning?

   In summary, niat in learning helps us to ensure that the pursuit of knowledge aligns with Islamic values. Lastly, to make sure we can achieve our goals with Allah's blessings.

1. Iman

   The Prophet Muhammad said, "You should believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and you should also believe in 'Qada' and 'Qadar,' which means believing in divine destiny, both good and bad."

   Iman consists of six beliefs :

   • Belief in Allah

   • Belief in Angels

   • Belief in the Scriptures

   • Belief in the Messengers

   • Belief in the Day of Judgment

   • Belief in Divine Predestination

2. Islam

   "Islam is to bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger. You must perform prayer, give zakat, fast during the month of Ramadan, and undertake Hajj to the House of Allah if you are able."

   Islam is based on five pillars :

   • Shahada which is bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger

   • Perform five daily prayers

   • Give zakat to those in need

   • Fast during the month of Ramadan

   • Perform Hajj to the House of Allah if able to do so

3. Ihsan

   Prophet Muhammad answered : "You should worship Allah as if you can see Him. If you cannot see Him, know that Allah is always watching you."

   Ihsan is the quality of worshipping Allah :

   • It means to worship Allah as if you can see Him and show sincerity in worship.

   • If that’s not possible, one should at least remember that Allah is always watching in everyday life.

   This story is narrated in a well-known hadith collection by Imam Nawawi, known as "Iman, Islam, and Ihsan." It is recounted by Saidina Umar, who describes an occasion when the companions were sitting with Prophet Muhammad in a gathering.

1. Tauhid al-Rububiyyah (Oneness of Lordship) : Tauhid al-Rububiyyah is the belief that Allah is the one and only creator, owner, and controller of the universe. He has the power to give life and take it away according to His will, and He can govern the entire universe through His laws.

2. Tauhid al-Uluhiyyah (Oneness of Worship) : Tauhid al-Uluhiyyah is the belief in the oneness of Allah SWT in performing acts of worship, such as prayer, fasting, sacrifice, surrendering to Him, and placing hope in Him.

3. Tauhid al-Asma wa al-Sifat (Oneness of Names and Attributes) : Tauhid al-Asma wa al-Sifat is the belief in the names and attributes of Allah SWT, as stated in the Qur'an and the Sunnah of His Messenger.

   
   

   وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۚ قُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٢٥

   (And if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will definitely say, “Allah!” Say, “Praise be to Allah!” In fact, most of them do not know.)

   
   

Next, the belief in angels is a fundamental aspect of Islam. Angels are viewed as created beings made of light who act as messengers and servants of Allah. They have various roles, including recording human actions, delivering revelations, and executing divine commands.

Lastly, in Islam, belief in the scriptures refers to the faith in the holy books revealed by Allah to guide humanity. The primary scripture is the Qur'an, believed to be the final and complete revelation.

One of the Quranic verses that emphasize the concept of ihsan : Surah Al-Baqarah (2:195): "And spend in the way of Allah, and do good (ihsan); and do good to your parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion by your side, the companion during the journey, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful."

In summary, ihsan represents the quest for excellence and perfection in both actions and intentions, especially within the Islamic framework. It inspires individuals to perform acts of worship and engage in daily life with sincerity, mindfulness, and a strong awareness of Allah's presence. By striving for ihsan, one enriches their spiritual journey while positively impacting others and the community. Ultimately, ihsan promotes a comprehensive approach to faith, encouraging believers to uphold the highest ethical and moral standards in all facets of life.

• Hikmah refers to wisdom in worship and life. Having the right intention is crucial, as the hadith إنما الأعمال بالنيات emphasizes that every action depends on its intention. Scholars like Ibnu Khutaiba state that hikmah is a blend of knowledge and deeds. A sincere intention must be pure, clear, and consistent.

Ihsan in Worship

• Ihsan means performing worship with excellence, as mentioned in Hadith Jibril. Surah Az-Zariyat (51:56) highlights that humans were created to worship Allah. Worship done with ihsan shapes character and increases piety.

Hikmah in Good Deeds

• Hikmah is also linked to education and good deeds. Surah At-Taubah (9:103) emphasizes purifying the soul through charity and righteousness. Actions performed with sincere intentions bring great rewards.

• Prayer instills discipline, enhances focus, and prevents immoral acts (Al-Ankabut: 45). Fasting builds patience and piety (Al-Baqarah: 183). During fasting, we are encouraged to maintain worship, read the Quran, and continue good deeds after Ramadan.

Wisdom of Zakat and Hajj

• Zakat purifies wealth and helps those in need (At-Taubah: 103). Hajj is obligatory for those who can afford it and teaches patience and devotion to Allah (Al-Baqarah: 197). Both acts remind us that wealth and life are temporary.

Lessons from Worship

• Worship is done for Allah and to attain His paradise. Sincere intentions bring blessings and shape character. It is not just an obligation but a spiritual training to improve oneself and strengthen the connection with Allah.

• Prayer is the first thing to be judged on the Day of Judgment. To attain khusyu’, we must maintain taharah (purity of the body), proper clothing, and a clean prayer space. Khusyu’ means having a calm heart, fear of Allah, avoiding unnecessary movements, and staying focused without distractions.

Ways to Achieve Khusyu’

• Khusyu’ involves the body, voice, and gaze. To develop it, we should prepare before prayer, cleanse ourselves, use a miswak, and avoid praying while hungry if food is ready. Khusyu’ increases discipline and strengthens our connection with Allah.

Obstacles and Benefits of Khusyu’

• Hindrances to khusyu’ include shubhat (doubts) and syahwat (desires). When prayer is performed with full khusyu’, it brings inner peace, improves focus, and helps us stay obedient to Allah in daily life.

• Fasting is an act of worship commanded in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:183) to cultivate piety. It teaches patience, as mentioned in a hadith from Tirmidhi stating that fasting is half of patience. Through fasting, we learn to control our desires, anger, and unnecessary distractions.

Fasting as a Blessing and Mercy

• Although fasting involves physical challenges like hunger or pain (such as gastritis), it is actually a blessing and a sign of Allah’s mercy. Fasting grants honor (takrim) to the body and soul by resting the digestive system and purifying the heart from negative traits.

Strengthening the Connection with Allah

• Fasting helps us draw closer to Allah by increasing sincerity in worship. It also cultivates compassion, as we experience the struggles of the less fortunate, encouraging more charity and kindness toward others.

• In Surah Luqman (12-19), Allah encourages us to be thankful for His blessings, as gratitude leads to an increase in those blessings. Being good to our parents is highlighted as an essential example of doing good in practice. This Surah not only emphasizes beliefs but also teaches morals and the proper way of worship. It reminds us that every action, whether good or bad, is accounted for by Allah.

The Virtues of Khusyu’ in Salah

• Khusyu’ in prayer has numerous benefits. When we achieve khusyu’, we are able to obey Allah with sincerity and focus. Achieving khusyu’ is a form of jihad because it requires great effort and striving to maintain focus and humility in our prayer. It encourages us to be humble, and after attaining khusyu’, we naturally become more tawadu’ (humble). This connection to Allah through focused prayer fosters both discipline and a deeper relationship with the Creator.

• In addition, fasting (as mentioned in various verses, including Surah Luqman) serves as a method to purify the body and soul. Both prayer with khusyu’ and fasting act as tools for spiritual growth, where we strive against our desires and ego to please Allah. This process of worship brings us closer to Allah, and both are seen as ways to attain closeness to Him through sincerity and obedience.
