I'd probably show them different social/environmental problems (with pictures, obviously) and also the kinds of graphs that can be used to show information (pie charts, bar charts, line charts, etc.).

I would help them with sentence starters on how to give opinion, how to describe a graph, how to justify their answers, agreeing/disagreeing and analyzing data and foreseeing future events (hypothesizing).

In pair students can create new sentences, analyze and discuss with vocabulary int the future like probability, comparison.

I'd would expect them to use more complex structures, such as the conditionals (specially first and second), and also new vocabulary regarding social and environmental problems (logging, carbon footprint, carbon credit and etc.)

Students could work in pairs to compare graphs, describe what they see and understand, make questions about them.
