         <description><![CDATA[<div>Sociocultural theory is when reading/writing activities are a reflection of a students culture and community. Teachers use the theory to make a culturally aware and responsive classroom - most commonly they do this through multicultural literature. By using culturally responsive and aware teaching, children’s cultures become legitimized and it teaches students that there are differences among their cultures and backgrounds, but it should only create a deeper appreciation for their classmates.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
