The famous trade route is known as the Silk Road. The road is significant to the Chinese economy. It was a network of camel caravan routes connecting China to the Middle East. Recently historians referred to it as the Silk Routes. The trade route has reached various countries such as India, Persia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. In the 11th century, the Silk route was number one of China’s exported products. But in the 20th century, Japan has taken china’s place in producing silk. The silk road was not only about the silk. It was also about exchanging cultures.Different types of foods have been introduced to China. Then it has cultivated there such as walnuts, pomegranates, and coriand.

The production of silk increased much more during the Han dynasty, being smoother, thicker, and always with multicoloured embroidered patterns and human and animal figure designs. Chinese characters are also incorporated into the cloth of those examples that remain. With 220 warp threads per centimetre, the weaving of some Han period pieces is exceptionally fine. From the 1st century CE, the farming of the silk worms themselves also grew more advanced with techniques used to stimulate or delay their development by changing their environment's temperature. Different breeds were used to produce silk worms capable of creating threads with distinct qualities useful to the weavers, and these were crossed. The farming of the silk worms themselves also became more sophisticated from the 1st century CE with techniques used to promote or slow their growth by adjusting the temperature of their climate. Different breeds were used to produce silk worms capable of making threads that were useful to the weavers with separate properties, and these were crossed. The industry became such a critical source of income for families that land devoted to the cultivation of mulberry bushes was also rendered excluded from reforms that otherwise stripped away peasant possession of agricultural land and mulberry plots became the only land that farmers could claim inherited ownership of. The Confucian scholar, Mencius, proposed a plot to cultivate mulberry for the smallest of land holdings ever set aside. As demand increased, vast workshops where both men and women worked were set up by the state and others with enough money to do so. With several hundred workers engaged in manufacturing silk for the needs of the estate and for resale, great aristocratic houses had their own private silk production team. The development of silk was also the subject of poetry and songs, such as this example from the philosophical text of the Warring States era by Master Xun. Eventually, the Chinese were no longer able to hold to themselves the lucrative secret of the manufacture of silk, and it began to be processed in Korea and Japan, where it would become a state-controlled industry. Other states and cultures, such as India about 300 CE, learned the skills of sericulture, and from there it spread to Byzantium, Arabia, the Levant, and Italy.
