         <description><![CDATA[<div>Phoebe Sophie<br>Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur is bordered by Occitanie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Italy and the sea.<br> It is a coastal region as it is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. <br><br></div><div>The population is 5.059 million (2019). <br><br></div><div>A couple of famous tourist attractions include the French Riviera, Verdon Gorge and “Palais des Papes”. <br> Its major cities include French Riviera, Marseille (capital), Nice and Saint-Tropez. <br> The French Riviera is known for its sunny weather, colourful countryside, tradition, wine and food. <br> <br> <br><br></div><div>Cote d’Azur is known for colourful festivities and carnivals such as Carnaval de Nice – which usually lasts for two weeks and is attended by many famous and wealthy people internationally. <br> Some local foods include pumpkin gratin, panisse (fried chickpea cakes), ratatouille and nicoise salad. <br><br></div><div>Provence-Ales-Cote d’Azur did not change – it has always been Provence-Ales-Cote d’Azur. <br><br></div><div>Paul Cezanne (a famous French artist) renowned for being a post-impressionist painter came from this region. <br><br></div><div>Languages spoken within the region include Occitan and French. <br> English is also common as the region attracts many tourists during the French Film Festival (Cannes). <br><br></div><div><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
