It was a sunny Thursday morning followed by the temporary usual morning routine of making breakfast for my 2 cousins, who's parents at that time, were overseas. So naturally, I woke up, brushed my teeth then washed my face and dragged my cousin out of bed to help me cook breakfast. Yes we cooked and ate before taking a bath. We're just THAT lazy. Going on with the day, I took a little time by myself to study for my midsem exams which was just around the corner.

As I was studying away, I get a text from my cousin(who happens to be in the same house but you know, lazy butts), he tells me its lunch, which again, is my part to do along with my other cousin since he has his own work to do. We cooked lunch, ate, did a little chit chatting after eating and just enjoying some cousin bonding time. Then my cousin asked me if i wanted to join her to swim a bit. I thought, what harm could that do since its swimming and it'll help me relieve some tension and stress from all the studying I've been doing all week, so I figured, why not. Going on with the day, We went swimming which was like, really fun cause like, one of my favorite thing to do ever since i was a kid, is swimming. It's just super relaxing and especially when you float on water, it's feels as if you're free from all problems, harms without any care in the world.

As the sun started setting along the horizon, we starting getting bored in the pool, so we got out and decided to bath the 2 cats, Comot and Sam, since they were playing in some dirty places so we had to wash them and get them all squeaky clean. While we wait for the cats to dry up, we had quite an early dinner cause while my cousin went to pick up my brother, they bought us burgers which was like, so good. It was like so juicy and flavorful and not to mention, filling. Again we had the chit chatting over dinner, but this time, my brother joined in so that was fun. They played mobile legends which is this online time they obsessed with. I've played it once and damn, was it really addicting. So I don't blame them for being so obsessed over it. Since my cousin has bowling practice, we decided to join her and play along and they to beat each other at it. She's a pro at so we all felt quite intimidated and competitive. I actually got a sore thumb from playing bowling which later become so swollen and blue. No idea how it happened so like, I had to put my hand in warm water to reduce the inflammation but it was hurting for like a day or 2.

Over all, that day showed me how to appreciate family, how to be responsible and be there for those who need help and that there's always time for family ^-^

February 23, birthday of a tiny human named Aida Sofia.Yes, I'm not even joking about her being a tiny human. Not to mention, she's one of the first people I met when I came to Cyberjaya and the first housemate. I thought she would be my age or older cause she looked quite mature but turns out, she's younger than me by a year which was pretty shocking. I remember her wearing this colourful top with floating cupcakes which was super adorable looking.

The day before the actual birthday, my friends and I decided to surprise her at 12A.M, the moment it comes 23rd of February. This was all a last minute decision and we were all brainstorming on what we should buy, the decoration, the place and stuff. The day before was a Thursday and we still had classes so we decided to go after we get home and relax first. We are all sleep addicts so a nap per day is a must for us. We all agreed we needed our naps so we came to an agreement to go and buy the gifts and everything after we all had our naps.

As the day went by, we bought her gifts and cakes and initially, we were thinking of buying balloons and some decoration but like i said, it was all last minute so we didnt have much time and plus, were like college students so we're usually broke. While buying the gifts, we all made sure we didnt buy the same gift as the other person so that she can enjoy a little bit of everything that we got her.

Coming back from the long shopping, we quickly wrote our notes and wrapped our gifts just incase we dont have time later on tonight. I have no idea how to wrap gifts so i just did whatever i can and made it look not so noticeable and obvious what give i got but thankfully i had friends who we were willing to help me through my struggle. After wrapping up everything in the moment, we had nothing to do except play the waiting game until the time strikes 12 to surprise her.

Fast forward to the last 15 minutes preparation, we did our DIY decorations which read "HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIDA" on small, square, colorful papers. I mean it's the thought and effort put to these small details that the most meaningful. While we get everything prepped and ready, one of our good friends distracted her from us till its the big moment. During the preparation, we tried our best not to be so loud just in case she was close by and could hear us, It was quite messy if you ask me cause we were arguing whether or not to leave the cake in the box or put it in a plate where it looks more presentable. I had to run to the kitchen as fast as i could without making so much noise and get a nicely decorated plate for the cake. (By the way, the cake was a tiramisu cake which was so darn good). As i was getting the plate, i heard the door main door unlock which was a sign of the birthday girl arriving and at that point, I ran to the room to make sure they got everything done and quickly transferred the cake from the box to the place and quickly lit up the candles that were on the cake. This part of the day fit so well into place cause just as we lit up the candles, she waked in which was, the perfect moment cause we JUST finished everything, from the decoration, to the cake on the plate with candles on top.

Finally, it struck 12 and the room door opened, and then she walked in screaming and shouting and jumping around with joy. She seemed so happy and so were we that we got to make her day the moment she turned 17. She told us how she hasn't had a surprise party in a long while so we all felt happier to hear her say that. We resumed the day with her opening our gifts. She received gifts that she really loved. My gift to her was a tomato plant that you grow on your own from scratch. She was astonished that someone would actually buy her an actual plant. Here's why i thought of that. I didnt actually know what exactly to get her so we walked around thinking maybe we can get her something that smells like since she likes that so we walked around the mall for a little long and went into a book store. That's where we stumbled across the plant. I thought it would be a great idea since we had a talk about how she really wanted us to grow a plant in our house so i said to myself, why not. To be honest, i didnt think it would grow but its becoming quite big now in our house. It received the name Mato. Reason for this is because i mentioned in my note to her saying, "I love you from my head to-ma-toe" and making her laugh hysterically. And that's how Mato, the tomato plant, came in her life.

I dont have pictures from this day but i can show you how well the tomato plant actually grew :O

Our sad but delicious crepe cake. Fail or success?

It was fund raising day in my college where students sell whatever it is they want from accessories to food to drinks or anything that could be sold fast and make profit basically. Our class decided to sell scarves (shawl and bawal), nasi lemak, cupcakes, crepe cakes and we also organized games like chess which was Harry Potter themed, uno and such. The only thing that bothered me a bit on this day was the fact that we had to sell outside in the heat. So it was pretty hot but other stalls were selling cold drinks and ice cream which helped us withstand the heat.

A friend and i were the ones who were in charge of the crepe cakes. This cake is basically layers of crepe with whipping cream in between each layer then we leave it i the fridge to get firm so it holds the shape together since the whipping helps it hold its shape. We did 2 flavours, matcha crepe cake and oreo crepe cake. The matcha one is matcha crepes layered with cream in between, dusted with matcha powder whereas the oreo one was chocolate flavoured crepes with oreo filling in between them topped with crushed oreos. The night before the fund raising, my friend and i stayed up till 4 am making those crepes cakes. We stayed at 10 so it was a bit late. Making this dessert is very time consuming as you have to cook thin layers one by one and wait for them to cook before you could start layering them or else the cream would get warm and just melt. If the cream does melt then it just becomes floppy and start sliding over each other which let me tell you, isn't the slightest bit fun. It's really hard to keep the layers in place without making a mess. That night, we only succeeded in making the oreo crepe cake cause we got sleepy and we ran out of whipping cream to layer the cake to freeze it.

The next day was fund raising and sadly, we had biology lab in the morning so we couldn't start making the matcha one so after class, we had to go all the way back to her house since she got all the ingredients and get started on the crepes while the others went to go get the other ingredients like the cream and the eggs (boiled eggs) for the nasi lemak. Once we got the whipping cream, it was just in time for us to start whipping the cream and layering the crepe. It took such a long time and we didn't have enough time to get it to firm up cause our classmates were afraid it wouldn't get there in time to get sold as the nasi lemak was getting sold out so we didn't have much food to offer. So we had to hurry up and finish up the matcha but because of us rushing, the cream didn't whip well (FYI, we hand whipped it so we all got arm muscles) so we just had to use that even tho it was a bit too thin (as in it wouldn't stay on the crepe and it kept dripping from the sides). We just had to use what we had to we tried to just freeze everything together, hoping it would work but nope, didn't work either. Then my friend got fed up and just poked 2 chopsticks in it hoping it would stay in place but that didn't work either cause it started leaning to one side.

At 3 was when we left the house to go to campus to start selling it so we just put the fail one into the freezer in a small shop in our college and just hoped for the best. We left it for 30 to 40 minutes until we took it out and cut it up to put it into containers to be sold. I'll be honest here, presentation wise, didn't look too good but the taste was just divine. We were afraid that it wouldn't get sold out cause how sloppy it looked but we just prayed and tables turned and it actually sold out. Both of us were so shocked cause usually people look at how appetizing food looks cause ours just wasn't that appetizing. I'm just glad most of our things got sold cause to make the crepe cakes was actually quite a lot to spend.

In the end, we all went home feeling content that we at least got some stuff sold and wasn't as bad as we all expected it to be. Moral of the story here is patience and not losing faith in yourself and others.

"One day your life will flash before your eyes, make it worth watching"

This is a quote i came across while scrolling through instagram and it had quite a deep meaning to it, depending on how you interpret it. Life should be precious to everyone. Appreciate who you have in your life no matter who they are. A common mistake people do is think about themselves and not others when that someone in their life is gone, then only they realise how much that person means to them. You never know how much something or someone means to you until you lose it. Love those precious people on your life. Show them how much you do and they will fells so much better about themselves than they were. Don't hate people cause that just builds up anger inside and anger isn't always the easy way out. It's the hard way and there's no escape from anger cause it just keeps accumulating inside. Be good to others and others will be good to you.Treat others the way you want to be treated and you will live a better life.

Instead, it helps you to breakdown and really find out the reason why you're tired all day long and helps reduce the times when you feel tired. It has to do with the body of course. How you take care of it, what you eat, your lifestyle, stress etc.

I jumped into a river. Voluntarily or involuntarily?

Our FOSA committee conducted an educational camping trip to a place called Kem Herba, Hulu Langat. It was this place where it was in the middle of a forest and our camp was situated on the side of a river. To get to our base camp, we had to cross a bridge, which was quite narrow (but big enough to allow cars to cross). It was surrounded by tall trees, green grass and a turbulent river. Past the bridge, were the barely accommodating lodgings for the students.

We had various activities during the camp, one of which included me jumping into a river headfirst. The game basically consisted of six people grouped into one, and we would go from station to station in the camp where there would be mini games for each place. One specific game required us to catch a balloon that was released into the river, for which i immediately dove into the river to catch. This river was infested with leeches, which is why i regretted it the moment i realised it. At this point it was too late, which is why i captured the balloon at lightning speed and rushed back to the river bed. Fortunately for me, god went easy on me that day so i didn't get bit by leeches.

Although I'm a person that's scared of trying new things and going out of my comfort zone, this made me a little less pessimistic about trying new things and it will open more doors for me in the future. Life is too short to hold back and be afraid of what life has to offer. Without experimenting, we will never know how it feels like to do something new so might as well take advantage of everything we're given. Everyone needs to go out there, out of their bubble and try different things
