Learning target is the overall goal of the lesson
Success criteria is the specific task that the students will be doing in order to achieve that goal. Success criteria is based on the exit ticket and the task assigned

SPED: Learning targets and success criteria explain the learning goal(based on the standard) using explicit kid-friendly language with a progression of learning using purposeful visuals and the expectation(what they can do at the end of the lesson)

For art, the finished product is often the learning target and the success criteria are the steps needed to reach that point. However, if we are focusing on a certain standard, often the learning target will have more to do with writing or thinking about art rather than the art work itself. The learning targets can still be formatted in a stair-step model to aid in student understanding

Learning Targets are internalized for each week of the module and connect to the focus standard.

Success Criteria ties to the exit ticket or task assigned to students at the end of a lesson or standard. An exemplar is used to see if students have met the success criteria. Content area vocabulary is part of the success criteria.

LTs explain the focus of our lesson and what the students will be doing during our learning in the lesson library/task/skill connected with our standards. They are written and stated in kid-friendly language.

SC is evident when students are accurately and fluently saying, reading, and writing words/text within the skill focus.
