"made up of men who represent the people of England….they will come together on a fixed day and at a fixed place. ...the decision about creating or collecting taxes....by vote of majority rule of the representatives of the people"

This is one of the first examples of (partial) self governing and taking power away from kings. It paved the way for democracies, and the representation of the people in the government.

"The natural liberty of man is to be free from any superior power on Earth, and not be under the will or legislative (law making) authority of man"

John Locke was one of the first to propose that we should not be subject to higher powers. That freedom and the ability to choose for ourselves and govern ourselves, should come first.

"The colonists also enjoyed a high degree of self-government....They had their own legislatures, or assemblies, where their elected representatives passed laws and levied taxes… "

This was the beginning of the United States. The colonies were starting to self-govern and they were starting to distance themselves from the King. They had established a sub-government with elected representatives that reflected the will of the people. It was only a matter of time before they wanted to be completely freely governed.
