The other side of trauma is resilience, and our community has a great deal to be proud of - I would like to consider ways we can reward that with agency. In other words, since so many of our students have proven themselves trustworthy and able to work independently, I'd like to engage them more actively in making choices about their learning. For example, empowering them to decide whether a camera is on/off, or proposing areas of inquiry that are personally meaningful, whether or not the topic is part of a traditional/formal curriculum or pacing plan. There are so many interesting avenues to the subjects we teach! (student examples from years ago in comments/attached)

Wondering if we can use faculty collaboration time to apply/practice/use some of the concepts we're discussing today. For example, can we apply SEL, well-being, equity, readiness (concepts from Antonio's symposium) in a project-based learning model or a restorative dialogue? Thinking this would help us improve and also - if we curate somewhere - provide a model for students to observe.
