Large dams have many benefits as they can store a large amount of water and they can produce hydroelectricity. But it also have many disadvantages like it requires a large area to evacuate for the construction of dam. It takes a long time for the construction of the dam. It is difficult remove silt from large dams.

Small dams requie a small time for the construction of dam and it requires a small area to evacuate. It is easy to remove silt from small dams. It also have disadvantages like it can store less water and cannot produce hydroelectricity as well .
