That is why the Paleontological Museum in Asenovgrad is such a desirable and interesting place for the little ones. First, some information about the museum itself: The foundation of the museum is a palliative collection, collected for 30 years by the biology teacher at that time Dimitar Kovachev and his students from the local high school.  We start with the exposition from the second floor. In glass windows, corals, oysters, mussels, ammonites, fossil sea urchins, remains of fossil turtles are exposed in the foyer. The impressive paleontological collection of the museum continues with very well-preserved remains and entire skeletons of many interesting animals and in particular mammals. In each case there were information and drawings of the animals themselves in their real environment. A great impression makes a picture showing that in our lands millions of years ago, elephants, giraffes, tigers and other animals lived. We saw skulls and parts of ancient antelopes, parts of rhinoceros skulls, barbell skeleton, bear skulls, monkey skeletons, an entire skeleton of an ancient triple horse, a scorpion tiger skull, a hyena skeleton, geese, Antelopes and others.  The students were very impressed by the frog skeleton - so fine bones and so professionally assembled - it seemed amazing. Its volume is the largest collection of Negene vertebrates in Bulgaria. The scientific collection of late Miocene mammals now numbers more than 25,000 of more than 40 species. Some of the exhibits are the only ones in the world and no other museum possesses them. After examining the exposition on the second floor, our curator unlocked the large doors leading to incredible exhibits on the first floor. The first floor of the museum exposition was opened in 1995. It represents the evolution of holly animals. Particularly attractive among all the exhibits is the skeleton of the ancient Deinotherium Giganteum Kaup, measuring 4.65 meters in height and 6.80 meters in length, near the village of Ezerovo, Parvomaysko. These dimensions are thought to have exceeded 10 tonnes. The degree of dullness of the teeth was supposed to be an average adult at the age of 40-45 years. The demynoleum is the representative of one of the largest for all time terrestrial mammals, the third largest ever. The relative is the current elephants, but of course with much larger dimensions, the main difference being the bent down tusks. In Bulgaria he inhabited the Rhodope Mountains about 6-7 million years ago. Found in 1965 by Dimitar Kovachev, a biology teacher in Asenovgrad. The deiotericum was a giant primitive hollow animal lived by calm, swampy waters overgrown with rich coastal vegetation and fed with rhizomes and aquatic vegetation that had yielded with tangled tusks. The huge area of ​​his feet was an anti-sinking device. This is the most preserved, with the greatest number of bones of the world's five known skeletons of the world known to date.
