Name of the book- Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix
Writer- J.K Rowling
days taken- 6 days
pages-799
average time each day- 3 hours

Summary- Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix is the 5th book in the Harry Potter septology. It is set in the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardary, with many parts also set in Pivet Drive, where the protagonist, Harry Potter, lives. The order of the Phoenix is a group of wizards, formed by the greatest wizard of all time, Albus Dumbledore, who fought against He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, in the first wizarding war. Harry potter and his friends are a new addition to the group, though not included in their proceedings. The book mainly focuses on the struggles of the order and the students of Hogwarts, against the Ministry of Magic and Dolores Umbridge, who believes that Voldemort hasn't returned, and is just a way for Dumbledore to overpower the Ministry. Harry also develops close relations with his godfather, Sirius Black, who sadly dies in the battle of the Department of Mystery. Bellatrix Lestrange, a death eater, Eliminates him using the killing curse, Avada Kedavra. However the book ends in hope, as the prophecy which Voldemort desperately wanted is broken, and the members of the order ensure harry a fun-filled summer, as they warn the Dursleys on serious consequences if Harry is mistreated at Pivet Drive.

Favourite Character- Sirius Black
As the character portrays hope and the struggles of someone when one is unable to show his full potential. Sirius, being a powerful wizard, is unable to even get out of the headquarters of the order, Grimmauld Place, as he is falsely accused of killing 12 people, for which he was a prisoner of Askaban.

Another ending?- I would not like to make a change in the ending, as I don't think there can be anything better, and a different ending would break the sacred flow of the septology.

Name of book- Diary of a young girl
Writer- Anne Frank
days taken- 4
Average time each day- 5 hours

Summary- Anne Frank is a Jewish girl who is protecting herself during World War II to avoid the Nazis. She shares her experience and happenings and the tale during her period of darkness. Also, she conceals in the secret division on the Prinsengracht 263 in Amsterdam with seven different people during World War II. In the book she mentions during the start that she knows nobody would want to read the diary of a thirteen year old girl but she is writing as she doesn't have any real friends to talk to. The book is a little boring at first to me when she tells about the girls and boys in her class, complaining about the most of them. She was very popular and everyone loved her. She was also very smart and loved reading. But it gets a lot more relatable and exciting once they go into hiding. For two years, the Frank family lives in this Secret Annex. Mr. and Mrs. van Daan and their son Peter (who is a few years older than Anne) are also in hiding with the Franks. Later, Mr. Dussel (an elderly dentist) moves in, and Anne has to share her bedroom with him. Anne’s adolescence is spent hidden from the outside world. She’s cooped up in tiny rooms, tiptoeing around during the day and becoming shell-shocked from the sounds of bombs and gunfire at night. Luckily, the Franks have tons of reading material and a radio. Anne grows in her knowledge of politics and literature, and she puts tons of energy into studying and writing. At the same time, she grows further and further away from the other members of the Annex. She felt misunderstood and expresses her feelings of loneliness and her frustration over the lack of privacy. At first she hated the Van Daans' son - Peter van.But soon they became friends. She comes to see Peter (of the Annex) as much more than she first thought. She finds him sensitive and caring, and they talk about everything. Anne and Peter’s passion turns into a friendship and a source of comfort for them both. Unfortunately, this does not last. Even as Anne becomes more and more sensitive to the suffering going on in the world, her own suffering becomes unbearable. She feels completely alone. She thinks everyone hates her. She feels constantly criticized. And there is no escape. At one point, she thinks it might have been better if she and her family had all died instead of hiding in the Annex. As Anne becomes harder on those around her, she also becomes harder on herself, berating herself for being mean to the other members of the Annex. There her diary ends. Two short months after Anne’s fifteenth birthday, and two days after he last diary entry, the Secret Annex is raided. We don’t know Anne’s thoughts or feelings at that point or any time after, but we know things got worse. As you probably already know, Anne and the other members of the Annex were sent to various concentration camps. Anne's father, Otto Frank, was the sole survivor.
My favourite character- My favourite character is Anne as I can relate to her and feel like we are soul sisters. Also we share the same interests, weaknesses and strengths.

Alternativer ending- I would have loved if Anne and her family weren't discovered and survived the war. Anne would have finished school, become a writer marry Peter and live to a ripe old age with him.

Name of the book- matilda
Writer – Roald Dahl
Summary – Matilda Wormwood is a young girl who is extraordinarily brilliant. At a young age, she can solve complex math problems in her head and read books meant for adults. Unfortunately, though, Matilda has grown up with parents who do not give her the attention and love she deserves. Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood and their son, Michael, are quite different from Matilda, preferring to watch television than read books. They do not understand her, and often treat her badly.Matilda starts school late for a girl her age, and is placed in the lowest form in Crunchem Hall Primary School. Matilda's teacher, Miss Honey, is a wonderful, sweet woman, and she immediately recognizes Matilda's intelligence and seeks to move her into the highest form, where she can maximize her potential. Unfortunately, though, Crunchem Hall is run by a terrible woman named Miss Trunchbull. She is massive and muscular, having been a former Olympic athlete for Britain. She absolutely loathes children and treats the students horribly, keeping them in line with terrible punishments such as the "Chokey," a thin closet with walls made of nails where students have to stand straight up for hours when they misbehave .When Magnus's will mysteriously appears, it is revealed that his house belonged to Miss Honey all along, as do his life savings. She moves in immediately, and Matilda is a frequent visitor. Under the new head teacher, Matilda is moved up to the highest form, where she finds that because her mind is challenged with hard work, she has lost the ability of telekinesis. She discusses this with Miss Honey but decides she does not mind that it is gone .When she returns home that day she sees her parents and brother in a frenzy, packing up to move to Spain because her father has finally been caught for being involved with criminals who sell stolen cars. Miss Honey offers to adopt Matilda so she can stay and live with her, and Matilda's parents, who never truly cared about her, agree to the plan.

Book – The Room On The Roof

Author – Ruskin Bond

Days taken – 5

Average time read each day – 2 hours

Summary of the book - Room on the Roof is about an orphaned boy named Rusty who has no real family after his parents’ death. He is very lonely and sad and even though he lives with his guardian (Mr. John Harrison), he doesn’t feel at home. Rusty is going through several emotions: he is confused, obliged, helpless, lonely and sad. He is confused because he is a young boy between the age of an adult and child and doesn’t know who to follow or what his future holds. He is obliged to follow the orders and rules of his guardian and dares not disobey him. He feels helpless because he knows that if he disobeys Mr. John, he will get caned. Rusty doesn’t have any real friends and he is so very lonely in his guardian’s house.

Even though Rusty is half-Indian, John doesn’t let Rusty near the bazaar for a reason: John thinks that Indians are very dirty and this story is written just after the British had ruled over India, so he must have felt more superior!

One day, Rusty decides to get some fresh air and takes a walk while his guardian was away in Delhi. After walking through the forest, he stops in front of the bazaar and his mind is arguing with his instinct. His mind is saying, Don’t go! You will get into trouble. But his instinct is saying, Go! You have your own heart and mind. You don’t have to live under rules all the time. Rusty chooses to follow his instinct and steps into the bazaar.

He has made a good choice. Up until now, Rusty doesn’t have any hope or confidence but then he meets a kind boy named Somi and makes friends with him. Somi and his friends become Rusty’s hope and confidence, and Somi and Ranbir are really kind to Rusty. When Rusty returns home, he finds that his guardian has returned early and gets caned for going to the bazaar. The next day, he goes to play Holi with Ranbir and once again gets caned. Rusty now knows what he has to do. He starts to live his own life and runs away from his guardian’s house. Rusty finds Somi who supports him a lot.

Slowly, from a confused boy, Rusty turns into a confident and independent young man!

He had to pay the rent once a year. During heavy rain, it would become a watercourse and the earth would be leaving it very stony and uneven. He first took this path to the cottage to see the owner of the cottage Miss
Mackenzie. During the thunder storm the cottage 's first floor got flooded during his first visit and Miss Mackenzie was really old, so he helped her up the stairs. It led to an L- shaped room There were large windows and when he opened one the wind seemed to rush upon him because of the breeze and the calmness . He told her that he would be moving in soon, but his books were still in Delhi. He did not knew what dragged him to Maplewood.

About the author - Ruskin Bond (born 19 May 1934) is an Indian author of British descent. He has written hundreds of short stories, essays, novellas and books for children. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2014. He lives with his adopted family in Landour, Mussoorie.

My most important learning -
The most important thing, I learned from this story is that, no matter where you are from whether from a town, a city, a village But when you come to live in the mountains, you will belong to them and there is no escape.

Story Name - Harry Potter and the deathly Hallows
Author - J.K. Rowling
Days taken - 5 days
average time - 1 and half hours
Summary
Following Dumbledore's death, Harry is moved to a safe location and during this event Mad-Eye is killed. Ron and Hermione decide to join Harry in his quest to destroy the Horcruxes.

Some of the clues that Dumbledore left them included: a Golden Snitch for Harry, a Deluminator for Ron, and a book of fairy tales for Hermione.

Harry and Hermione travel to Godric's Hollow, Harry's birthplace where they meet historian Bathilda Bagshot, but she turns out to be Nagini in disguise. They escape to Forest of Dean. A Patronus appears to Harry and guides him to an icy pond containing the Sword of Gryffindor. However, the locket around his neck tries to kill him through the Horcrux and Ron saves Harry. Ron uses the sword to destroy the Horcrux.

They visit Xenophilius Lovegood and he explains to them about the Deathly Hallows. Harry realises that Voldemort is seeking the Elder Wand. However, they are all captured and taken to Malfoy Manor. They escape and Griphook tells them of Helga Hufflepuff's cup, which is another Horcrux. They break into the vault, retrieve the cup, and escape on a dragon. They enter Hogwarts through a passageway. Harry realises that Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem is a Horcrux. Ron and Hermione destroy it with a basilisk fang.

Voldemort kills Snape after assuming that the Elder Wand is not working because it's loyalty lies with Snape, who disarmed Dumbledore. Snape passes Harry his memories to view in a Pensieve. It is revealed that Snape was a double agent working for Dumbledore because he loved Lily Potter. It was Snape's doe Patronus that lead Harry to the sword.

Neville Longbottom manages to kill Voldemort's snake Nagini, the last Horcrux. Voldemort uses the killing curse against Harry. Harry enters Limbo where he meets Dumbledore who explains to him that Voldemort has killed the link between himself and Harry. Harry returns to the living world. Voldemort and Harry battle. Harry reveals to Voldemort that the Elder Wand cannot harm him because its loyalty lies with Harry, as he was the one to disarm Draco Malfoy, who disarmed Dumbledore.

Voldemort cast the killing curse on Harry but it refutes and he ends up killing himself. Harry destroys the Elder Wand after the war and the wizarding world returns to peace once more.
Favourite character -
Harry would do anything to protect the people he loves. He’s able to build a family for himself and does everything to keep it safe. The ending of "Deathly Hallows" has always struck a chord with me. Harry’s happy ending is not to conquer evil, or gain power; his happy ending is to have peace. Thats why harry porter is my favourite character.
I would give this book 9 out of 10 because the book is a fitting conclusion to an epic saga spanning numerous years and six books.

They also meet their cousin Georgina, a surly, difficult girl, who tries hard to live like a boy and only answers to the name George. Despite an uncomfortable start, the cousins become firm friends and George introduces them to her beloved dog Timothy (Timmy), who secretly lives with the fisher boy, Alf, in the village as George's parents will not allow her to keep Timmy.

On their way to Kirrin Island, George shows her cousins a shipwreck, explaining it was her great-great-great grandfather's ship. He had been transporting gold when the ship was wrecked in a storm, but despite divers investigating the wreck, the gold was never found. After visiting the wreck, the five arrive on the Island and are exploring the ruined castle when a huge storm blows up, making it too dangerous for them to return to the mainland. While they take shelter on the island, the sea throws up the old shipwreck, grounding it on the rocks surrounding the island. Excited by these developments, they decide to come back at dawn the next day to investigate the wreck before it is discovered.

The following day, the five visit the wreck and discover the captain's cabin, where they find some objects belonging to George's great-great-great-grandfather, including an old box which they take back to Kirrin Cottage. The box proves difficult to open, so they throw it from the highest window of the house. The box breaks open, but the noise disturbs Uncle Quentin who confiscates the box. Not willing to give up their quest, Julian sneaks into Uncle Quentin's study and takes the box, which contains an old map of Kirrin Castle. Later in the further investigation on the map, the children find a word INGOTS, which they later understand that it represented the place in which the lost gold was buried. The children realise it is a treasure map showing the location of the lost gold. After making a tracing of the map and returning the box, they decide to find the gold themselves.

To the children's shock, the box containing the map is sold to an antique collector. The same man also makes an offer to buy Kirrin Island. The children realise he has unearthed the secret map and wants the gold for himself, and so begins a race for the five to get to the gold first. Thinking the children want to spend time at the island before it is sold, Uncle Quentin and Aunt Fanny allow them to go camping there for one week.

Arriving on the island, the five start searching the castle ruins to locate the old dungeons where the gold is hidden. Chasing a rabbit, Timmy falls down an old well, from where the children find the dungeon entrance. Exploring underground, they find the gold in a locked vault. Trouble soon arrives, as bad men come to the island hoping to steal the gold. They capture George and Julian, locking them in the dungeons and ask them to write a note to Anne and 🤬 who was up in the air to come back to the dungeons. George wrote the letter and 🤬 find something fishy about it as George signed her name as Georgina and decide not to go down. Unable to find Anne and 🤬 , they leave the island, taking the oars from the children's boat so they cannot escape. Anne and 🤬 use the good shaft to rescue Julian and George from the dungeon, and the children hatch a plan to trap the men when they come back to the island with a boat to steal the gold.

Although the plan goes wrong, they manage to leave the men stranded on Kirrin Island. They return to the mainland to tell Uncle Quentin, Aunt Fanny and the police what has happened. The gold is recovered and it is decided that it legally belongs to George's family, making them rich and enabling them to afford everything they have ever wanted. George's only wish is to be allowed to keep Timmy, and her parents agree. George also agrees to go to boarding school with Anne, because she and her cousins have become very good friends and also the school allowed pets.
Famous Character -Julian he is the oldest of the five, cousin to George and elder brother to 🤬 and Anne. He is tall, strong and intelligent as well as caring, responsible and kind. His cleverness and reliability are often noted by Aunt Fanny. He is the leader of the group and is very protective towards Anne and sometimes, to her frustration, towards George. Julian is the most mature of the group but, although well-meaning, his manner can at times come over as overbearing, pompous or priggish. At the start of the series, Julian is 12 years old.

Two years later, he escapes in a boat with a boy named Xury; a captain of a Portuguese ship off the west coast of Africa rescues him. The ship is en route to Brazil. Crusoe sells Xury to the captain. With the captain's help, Crusoe procures a plantation. Years later, Crusoe joins an expedition to bring slaves from Africa, but he is shipwrecked in a storm about forty miles out to sea on an island near the Venezuelan coast (which he calls the Island of Despair) near the mouth of the Orinoco river on 30 September . He observes the latitude as 9 degrees and 22 minutes north. He sees penguins and seals on his island. As for his arrival there, only he and three animals, the captain's dog and two cats, survive the shipwreck. Overcoming his despair, he fetches arms, tools and other supplies from the ship before it breaks apart and sinks. He builds a fenced-in habitat near a cave which he excavates. By making marks in a wooden cross, he creates a calendar. By using tools salvaged from the ship, and some which he makes himself, he hunts, grows barley and rice, dries grapes to make raisins, learns to make pottery and raises goats. He also adopts a small parrot. He reads the Bible and becomes religious, thanking God for his fate in which nothing is missing but human society. More years pass and Crusoe discovers native cannibals, who occasionally visit the island to kill and eat prisoners. At first he plans to kill them for committing an abomination but later realizes he has no right to do so, as the cannibals do not knowingly commit a crime. He dreams of obtaining one or two servants by freeing some prisoners; when a prisoner escapes, Crusoe helps him, naming his new companion "Friday" after the day of the week he appeared. Crusoe then teaches him English and converts him to Christianity. After more natives arrive to partake in a cannibal feast, Crusoe and Friday kill most of the natives and save two prisoners. One is Friday's father and the other is a Spaniard, who informs Crusoe about other Spaniards shipwrecked on the mainland. A plan is devised wherein the Spaniard would return to the mainland with Friday's father and bring back the others, build a ship, and sail to a Spanish port. Before the Spaniards return, an English ship appears; mutineers have commandeered the vessel and intend to maroon their captain on the island. Crusoe and the ship's captain strike a deal in which Crusoe helps the captain and the loyal sailors retake the ship. With their ringleader executed by the captain, the mutineers take up Crusoe's offer to be marooned on the island rather than being returned to England as prisoners to be hanged. Before embarking for England, Crusoe shows the mutineers how he survived on the island and states that there will be more men coming. The route taken by Robinson Crusoe over the Pyrenees mountains in chapters 19 & 20 of Defoe's novel, as envisaged by Joseph Ribas Crusoe leaves the island 19 December 1686 and arrives in England on 11 June 1687. He learns that his family believed him dead; as a result, he was left nothing in his father's will. Crusoe departs for Lisbon to reclaim the profits of his estate in Brazil, which has granted him much wealth. In conclusion, he transports his wealth overland to England from Portugal to avoid traveling by sea. Friday accompanies him and, en route, they endure one last adventure together as they fight off famished wolves while crossing the Pyrenees

It is the third great Hindu Epic after the Mahabharat and Ramayana. However, this narration was composed in fragments over thousands of years, first as the Harivamsa, then as the Bhagavata Purana, and finally as the passionate songs of poet-sages in various regional languages.

This book seamlessly weaves the story of Krishna’s birth to death, from his ascent from the blood-soaked world of angry men.

What I know about the author: : DEVDATT PATTANAIK writes, illustrates and lectures on relevance of mythology in modern times. He has, since 1996, written over fifty books and 1000 columns on how stories, symbols and rituals construct the subjective truth (myths) of ancient and modern cultures around the world. His books with Penguin Random House include-

1. Myth= Mythya: Decoding Hindu Mythology

2. Book of Ram

3. Olympus: An Indian Retelling Of The Greek Myths

4. Jaya: An Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharat

5. Sita: An Illustrated Retelling of the Ramayana

6. Devlok with Devdatt Pattanaik Series

Among others.

He consults with corporations on leadership and governance, and YV channels on mythological serials. His TV shows include Business Sutra on CNBC-TV18 and Devlok on EPIC TV. On radio Mirchi, he has The devdatt Pattanaik show.

My most important learning Lord Vishnu’s incarnation of Lord Krishna is loved by all but I found it very surprizing when I learnt that his life was not a bed of roses. He faced many tough challenges and also had to go through many failures and sufferings but still he was motivated to go on the right path and aim higher which benefits and serves the humanity as a whole. He was always able to defeat demons, sometimes by power and sometimes by clever tactics. We should also not lose hope or give up in these difficult and hard situations. There is no such problem which doesn’t have a solution. Its like when there is a lock, it must have a key. If we put lots of hard work, courage, patience, will power, knowledge and might on what we want to achieve then God will surely guide us and make all the way to success.

While a higher class person first uses the money on assets then entertainment and lastly on paying the taxes.

Book read: Sudha Murthy Grandmas bag of stories
Days taken: 2
Average time: 2hours 30 mins a day

About the book:
Grandma’s Bag of Stories is a beautiful collection of interesting stories to share with kids from the pen of very popular author Mrs. Sudha Murthy. The book will take you through the memory lane of your childhood days spent at your grandparent’s home. Sudha Murthy’s Grandma’s Bag of Stories is simply wonderful and full of engaging stories of monkeys and mice, kings and cheats, scorpions and hidden treasures and princesses and onions. The book starts with the grandmother Ajji waiting for her grandkids Raghu and Meenu to arrive for summer vacations. The other pair of sibling Anand and Krishna had already arrived. The craziness and fondness of the kids for their Ajji is what is narrated in the first chapter of the book. How the kids loved to listen to Ajji’s funny and wonderful stories. The conversation between Ajji and her grandchildren is interesting and engaging. It lets us dig into the kind of bondings and inspiration grandparents can have on today’s younger generation. The book takes you on a journey from a real world to the world of fantasies and fiction. The children in the story learn about the village life, farmers, birds, and animals while walking in the paddy fields with their grandfather. On the other hand, they learn about the moral values, culture and different virtues of life from the stories narrated to them by their loving and affectionate grandmother. After narrating every story the grandmother discusses it with the kids in the first few stories. And this is the part which brings the crux of every story they listened. The visualizations the kids went to and the lessons they learned are all discussed at last which
About the author:

He then stays in an inn that is owned and run by the husband and wife George and Janny Hall. They ask him to not be worried about the storm, so he goes to his room with his luggage. This man’s name is Griffin, a Scientist, who usually spends his time in his room experimenting with different chemicals and formulas.

He is an introverted guy, which becomes a huge problem as he lives in a town where the there is a lot of gossip.

Griffin goes outside at night; however, be keeps himself completely bandaged up and wears a fake nose. The villagers think that he is very peculiar, especially because there are suddenly weird break-ins and a lot of robberies start happening in the village. But things become worse when the owner Janny Hall asks him to pay up his overture rent or leave. So, he gets depressed and frustrated, taking off all his bandages and clothes and manages to disappear into the night with his invisibility tricks.

Griffin then forces Thomas Marvel, a tramp, or migrant worker by profession, to become his assistant. But Marvel betrays him and takes him to the police, so Griffin runs away again. The Invisible Man beats them up and wreaks some major havoc while leaving.

While he is on the run again, Griffin happens to meet Dr Kemp, his old acquaintance from medical school. Griffin then tells his friend Kemp about his experiments with invisibility. He also tells him how he has made plans to terrorize England by using his discovery of invisibility. Here’s the gist of what he tells him: he was poor and was desperate to study invisibility, so he steals money from his father, who later commits suicide (it’s not revealed why he does that). Finally, Griffin gets a grip of the idea of invisibility and proceeds to do these things: (1) set his landlord’s building on fire; (2) wander around London; (3) rob a department store; and (4) wear a ridiculous outfit hired from a theatrical costume shop and go to Iping for work.

But soon Kemp realizes that Griffin has gone berserk, and hands him over to the police.

But Griffin still breaks through the police line and starts chasing Kemp into the town.

Book name: Lord of the rings- the return of the king
Author: J. R. R Tolkien
Genre: Fiction
Summary: In the last part of Tolkien's epic fiction, the book is set in the age of middle earth. Everyone has chosen their ways and plans to defeat the evil lord of the black land- Sauron and save the middle earth. This books continues the mission to destroy the ring as started from the first book. While the young hobbits- Frodo, and Sam go along with Smeagol to find a secret way into Mordor so that they can defeat Sauron (Mordor's evil ruler) by throwing the ring into the Mount Doom; Aragorn, Legolas, Gandalf, Gimli reunite with Merry and Pippin at Isengard (ruled by Saruman- the wizard who betrayed everyone by switching sides and becoming an ally of Sauron) which is completely destroyed by Treebeard the Ent. Journey continues by the meetings of all the other leaders. The team reaches Rohan to reunite with the Theoden king as well as his nephew and niece, Eomer, and Ewoyn. They all were celebrating their victory at the battle of Helm's deep. Aragorn and Gandalf are specially worried about Frodo, and Samwise Gamgee who might die on the mission they were sent to complete. Smeagol who was travelling with Frodo and Sam had complete intentions to kill them and have the ring for his own, Sam knew Smeagol wanted to murder them, but Frodo was not ready to listen to him. Smeagol kept on blinding Frodo against Sam when finally Frodo sent Sam away. On the other side, Merry accidently gets to know the enemy's plan. Gandalf and Merry go to Minas Tirith to warn the steward but Denethor the steward would not listen to them. The greedy and foolish ruler Denethor was afraid that if he agrees with them and let their forces in, Aragorn the real king will come and take his real place. Denethor did not wanted to loose control on such a mighty kingdom. Mordor had started the battle. One by one it was sending his vast army including mighty men, pirates, orcs, black riders, nazguls, etc. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli went to bring some ghosts in their army as all of them felt outnumbered. And finally, all of them won the first battle. While, Frodo understood Smeagol's intentions, he had to battle a giant spider because of Smeagol in which Sam saved him and they both reached inside Mordor. To give Frodo time to drop the ring into Mount Doom, Aragorn marched with his full strengths at the black gate of Mordor and called upon war. The war will distract Sauron's eye and forces which will make it easier for Sam and Frodo to drop the ring. It was not easy to risk everyone's life and march towards their death surely but are we sure that was the ending? Lastly the book ends with accomplishment, all of them succeeded, and Aragorn was finally made the king along with his queen- Arwen.
Favourite character: Legolas as he was a very skilled and brave elfish prince. He could defeat a might Oliphant on his own and was even mentally sharp, for example when he won the challenge of beers against Gimli.

Book- Moby 🤬
Time taken- 4 days, 1.5 hours per day
Pages- 160
Author- Herman Melville
Genre- Adventure

Summary: Longing to go to the sea, Ishmael signs up for a voyage on the whaling ship "Pequod". The ship's captain, "Ahab" soon reveals his true mission. He wants revenge on the whale that maimed him. The chase takes Ismael to the other side of the world and ends it in a terrifying fight for survival.

Ishmael, the narrator, announces his intent to ship aboard a whaling vessel. He has made several voyages as a sailor but none as a whaler. He travels to New Bedford, Massachusetts, where he stays in a whalers’ inn. Since the inn is rather full, he has to share a bed with a harpooner from the South Pacific named Queequeg. At first repulsed by Queequeg’s strange habits and shocking appearance Ishmael eventually comes to appreciate the man’s generosity and kind spirit, and the two decide to seek work on a whaling vessel together. They take a ferry to Nantucket, the traditional capital of the whaling industry. There they secure berths on the Pequod, a savage-looking ship adorned with the bones and teeth of sperm whales. Peleg and Bildad, the Pequod’s Quaker owners, drive a hard bargain in terms of salary. They also mention the ship’s mysterious captain, Ahab, who is still recovering from losing his leg in an encounter with a sperm whale on his last voyage.

The Pequod leaves Nantucket on a cold Christmas Day with a crew made up of men from many different countries and races. Soon the ship is in warmer waters, and Ahab makes his first appearance on deck, balancing gingerly on his false leg, which is made from a sperm whale’s jaw. He announces his desire to pursue and kill Moby 🤬, the legendary great white whale who took his leg, because he sees this whale as the embodiment of evil. Ahab nails a gold doubloon to the mast and declares that it will be the prize for the first man to sight the whale. As the Pequod sails toward the southern tip of Africa, whales are sighted and unsuccessfully hunted. During the hunt, a group of men, none of whom anyone on the ship’s crew has seen before on the voyage, emerges from the hold. The men’s leader is an exotic-looking man named Fedallah. These men constitute Ahab’s private harpoon crew, smuggled aboard in defiance of Bildad and Peleg. Ahab hopes that their skills and Fedallah’s prophetic abilities will help him in his hunt for Moby 🤬.

The Pequod rounds Africa and enters the Indian Ocean. A few whales are successfully caught and processed for their oil. From time to time, the ship encounters other whaling vessels. Ahab always demands information about Moby 🤬 from their captains. One of the ships, the Jeroboam, carries Gabriel, a crazed prophet who predicts doom for anyone who threatens Moby 🤬. His predictions seem to carry some weight, as those aboard his ship who have hunted the whale have met disaster. While trying to drain the oil from the head of a captured sperm whale, Tashtego, one of the Pequod’s harpooners, falls into the whale’s voluminous head, which then rips free of the ship and begins to sink. Queequeg saves Tashtego by diving into the ocean and cutting into the slowly sinking head.

Finally, o
n the third day, the boats are once again sent after Moby 🤬, who once again attacks them. The men can see Fedallah’s corpse lashed to the whale by the harpoon line. Moby 🤬 rams the Pequod and sinks it. Ahab is then caught in a harpoon line and hurled out of his harpoon boat to his death. All of the remaining whaleboats and men are caught in the vortex created by the sinking Pequod and pulled under to their deaths. Ishmael, who was thrown from a boat at the beginning of the chase, was far enough away to escape the whirlpool, and he alone survives. He floats atop Queequeg’s coffin, which popped back up from the wreck, until he is picked up by the Rachel, which is still searching for the crewmen lost in her earlier encounter with Moby 🤬.

Ishika Chaudhary VIII C
Book - Jake's cash quest
Writer- Ken Spillman

Summary- Jake wanted money. When he was little,he hadn't thought about money- not even once. Sliding coins into a money box was okay, but when the coins were gone, the game was over. If the money box wasn't full, Jake could shake it and make a loud noise. It sounded like a hundred robots tripping over, all at once! That was fun, but only for a moment. Now, some of Jake's friends were given a weekly allowance. And when they got birthday money, they were free to spend it, Jake wasn't- Dad said ' money was better in the bank'. 'why?' Jake asked. 'It will earn interest,' said Dad. Interest, thought Jake. That doesn't sound very interesting.

Sometimes an idea got stuck in Jake's head and wouldn't budge. All the other ideas had to wait behind it until Jake actually DID something. It was just like a traffic jam. So,even when Dad told him to forget all about pocket money and move on, Jake didn't. He imagined going to the mall to buy something with his own cash. At school,Benji had a fancy pen that wrote in gold, silver and bronze. Jake wanted one too. He imagined buying Dad and Nana presents for their birthdays. Jake thought they would probably like fancy pens as well. He imagined buying a new cap, a basketball and a book by this favourite author. 'Pleee-ase?' Jake asked. 'could I please have some pocket money?' 'When you're a little older, sure. I'll give you an allowance and I'll also teach you about managing to convince Dad he needed pocket money- now. One day after school, Jake talked to Nana about this. She listened carefully. 'Well,' Nana said,' if an allowance is out of the question, why not try earning some money? We could see if neighbors have any odd jobs. Or maybe,on weekends, you could set up a little shop outside. When I was your age, I sold lemons from our tree. Oh, what fun I had!' Jake tried to imagine Nana as a girl of his own age. He couldn't. He didn't know where he could find a lemon tree either. But she was right. Dad might not want to give him money, but he would never say no to Jake earning some. Dad liked work- in fact,he even seemed to like the idea of work. On Saturday, Jake decided, he would do some jobs for the neighbours.

Jake reached up to the brass door knocker and rapped twice. Mrs De Silva was still in her dressing gown, but greeted Jake warmly. The De Silva family had lived in the street since before Jake was born. 'Hi Mrs De Silva', Jake said in his politest voice. 'I'm trying to earn some pocket money- are there any jobs you need someone to do?'
'Oh!' Mrs De Silva smiled. 'Good for you, Jake! Now let me think...' She thought for such a long time that Jake felt sure she was making a gigantic list in her head. 'Not reee-ally...' Mrs De Silva said finally. 'Can I think about it and let you know? All I can think of right now is that my little patch of lawn needs mowing. I know you can't do that'. 'I can!'Jake exclaimed. 'No,I couldn't let you do that- a lawn mower can be dangerous.' 'l'll use my scissors from school. I'll be really careful, Mrs De Silva!'. Mrs De Silva chuckled. 'It would take you a week!' 'I'm really fast... you'll see!' 'And how much would you charge?' Mrs De Silva was still smiling. That was nice, but Jake didn't want her to think he was just a kid playing a game. 'Anything,' Jake said. 'I need the job!' 'Thenthe job's yours,' Mrs De Silva told him. 'But today's quite hot. Just knock on the door if you need a drink!'

Summary - Harry Potter's third year at Hogwarts starts off badly when he learns deranged killer Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban prison and is bent on murdering the teenage wizard, a swarm of nasty Dementors is sent to protect the school from Black. A mysterious new teacher helps Harry learn to defend himself, but what is his secret tie to Sirius Black? The name of that teacher is Remus Lupin and he promises to Harry that he will take the revenge from Sirius for killing Harry’s father. The trio tries to find out more about Sirius Black and they got to know that Sirius Black has entered Hogwarts. Then, they find an unusual tree where a black wild wolf grabs Ron’s leg and take him away into the path inside the tree. So, Hermione and Harry being very good friend walks in for Ron where they find that the black wolf turns into Sirius Black means that he was an Animagus (someone who can turn itself into something else). Harry enters the room and points his wand towards Sirius. There enters Lupin which instead of supporting Harry shakes hand with Sirius Black. The three considers Lupin also as a partner in Voldemort’s (the one wizard who turned into dark world of wizardry and killed Harry’s parents) army. But still, Harry and his friends being fearless face both. Then, Lupin and Sirius tells the truth that Sirius never betrayed Harry’s parents and there were four friends that were Harry’s father, Lupin, Sirius and Peter Pettigrew and he joined Voldemort and betrayed Harry’s parents. At that moment Professor Snape entered that room and he points his wand towards both and says harry to takeover them, but Harry attacks his professor and saves them both just to know about Peter. They tell that he is sitting in the same room where they all are right now. Sirius points towards Ron saying he is Peter Pettigrew, but Ron denies to it and says, ‘he is mad, I am not Peter’ then Sirius says that ‘Not you, your foul rat’ then Ron says that Scabbers (Ron’s rat ) has been in his family for twelve years and pointing to that Sirius says he ran off after Sirius goes to the prison that was twelve years ago. After the truth comes out that Peter is the one who betrayed and helped in killing Harry’s parents then Peter tries to escape, and he successfully escaped from there. Sirius says that he is the godfather of Harry and always loved Harry as his child. Then, slowly it turns night and Lupin starts to become a Werewolf as it was a full moon night. He becomes a werewolf and tries to attack Harry as a werewolf cannot recognize anyone except its own kind. So to save Harry Sirius becomes black wolf and tries to defend werewolf and that leads to bad condition of Sirius black and seeing Sirius black all the dementors group up at the same place and then a big flash of ‘ Expecto Patronum’ (a spell to avoid dementors) flashes up and Harry first thinks that it was his dad but when he goes back in the time with the time turner he sees that it was he himself who did that powerful spell. So, at the end Sirius and Lupin gave their love to Harry and left Hogwarts but promised him that they are always with him.

Favourite character - My favourite character has always been Hermione as she is very clever, she has several times saved the trio by her knowledge. She also always helps Harry with his problems and chores and never leaves any friend alone. She also has courage and confidence to face challenges.
Change in ending - The story could also have been taken place like Peter was unsuccessful in escaping and the dementors takeover him and he teels everything about Voldermort and then Voldermort himself comes up to kill Harry but went unsuccessful as Dumbledore, Sirius and Lupin fight for Harry including his friends.

My learning - In almost every part of Harry Potter the main learning is that one should have the courage to face problems like Harry. One should be supportive and always help his/her friends like Hermione and Ron . If we have that knowledge which can solve someone's problems though it doesn't benefit us still we should do it and make others happy I am, because we are.

Name Of the book- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Author- J.K. Rowling
Time Taken- 5 days
Average Time Per Day- 2 Hours
Summary-
Ten-year-old Harry Potter is an orphan who lives in the fictional London suburb of Little Whinging, Surrey, with the Dursleys: his uncaring Aunt Petunia, loathsome Uncle Vernon, and spoiled cousin Dudley. The Dursleys barely tolerate Harry, and Dudley bullies him. One day Harry is astonished to receive a letter addressed to him in the cupboard under the stairs (where he sleeps). Before he can open the letter, however, Uncle Vernon takes it. Letters for Harry subsequently arrive each day, in increasing numbers, but Uncle Vernon tears them all up, and finally, in an attempt to escape the missives, the Dursleys go to a miserable shack on a small island. On Harry’s 11th birthday, a giant named Hagrid arrives and reveals that Harry is a wizard and that he has been accepted at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He also sheds light on Harry’s past, informing the boy that his parents, a wizard and a witch, were killed by the evil wizard Voldemort and that Harry acquired the lightning-bolt scar on his forehead during the fatal confrontation.

Upon arrival at the school, the students are sorted into one of four houses—Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. Harry ends up in Gryffindor, and during his eventful first year at Hogwarts he becomes close friends with two other members of the house, Ron Weasley, who comes from an old wizarding family, and Hermione Granger, whose parents are Muggles (those who are not magical). Harry also finds that he has an enemy in Draco Malfoy (Slytherin). In addition, Harry’s prowess in flying on a broomstick makes him a star of Gryffindor’s Quidditch team. Hoping to get Harry and his friends into trouble, Draco tricks them into leaving their rooms one night, a violation of school rules. While trying to avoid being caught, they discover a three-headed dog guarding a trapdoor. Harry gradually comes to the conclusion that Professor Snape, who teaches Potions, dislikes him intensely and is trying to get hold of whatever is behind the trapdoor. Harry receives his father’s cloak of invisibility as a Christmas gift, and, while exploring under the cloak’s cover, he finds the Mirror of Erised, in which he can see his parents. Later, headmaster Albus Dumbledore explains that the mirror shows the viewer’s deepest desire.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione deduce that the treasure under the trapdoor is the Philosopher’s Stone, which can transform metal into gold and can also confer immortality. They later discover that Voldemort has been killing unicorns in the Forbidden Forest and drinking their blood, another way to achieve immortality. The trio comes to believe that Snape is in league with the evil wizard. After learning that Hagrid revealed the secret way to lull the three-headed dog to sleep to a suspicious stranger, whom they believe to be either Snape or Voldemort, they are certain that the Philosopher’s Stone is in danger. The three classmates use the cloak of invisibility on a secret mission to get the Stone themselves to keep it from Voldemort. After getting past the dog and defeating various protective spells, Harry reaches the room in which the Stone is hidden and is surprised to find the perpetually nervous Professor Quirrell there. Quirrell fails to figure out how to retrieve the Stone from the Mirror of Erised (the final protective measure) and forces Harry to try. When standing in front of the mirror, wishing only to protect the Stone and not use it for himself, Harry feels the Stone’s weight in his pocket but refuses to tell Quirrell that he has it. Quirrell unwraps his turban, revealing Voldemort’s face on the back of his head. Voldemort explains that he has been sharing Quirrell’s body until he can get to the Stone and become fully alive again, and Voldemort/Quirrell and Harry fight for possession of the Stone, until Harry blacks out. He awakens in the infirmary and learns that Dumbledore saved him, the Stone is to be destroyed, and Voldemort escaped.
Favourite Character-Albus Dumbledore
Dumbledore is wise, gentle, kind and mysterious. He is the protector and mentor for Harry Potter. He is very caring towards Harry and his friends.

He was poisoned. Then a miraculous thing happened. Dumbledore's Phoenix flew into the Chamber. The phoenix cured Harry by its tears and left a Gryffindor Hat. It had a sword from which Harry slayed the Basilisk. He and Ron with Lockhart escaped the Chamber and told the whole story to their Teachers. They found that Lucius Malfoy had replaced Ginny's books with Tom's diary. Harry also found out that Dobby was the one who was stopping them form entering the platform. Dobby promised Harry to never stop him from going to Hogwarts again.

Some of the things I like about the book is how the writer, Jim Kwik, tells us about the four ‘supervillains’ of the brain, and how too much of technology can be the cause of our own detriment if we don’t use it right. This book also taught me a way of studying, which is helping me prepare for my periodic assessments. I highly recommend this book to everyone in my class, as it explains a lot about our brain, and how to use it to its full potential, to live a ‘limitless’ life.

Book name - Harry Potter and the goblet of fire.
Author - J.K. Rowling
Time taken - 7 days ( 2 hours per day)
Summary -
The story begins fifty years before the present day, with a description of how the Riddle family was mysteriously killed at supper, and their groundsman, Frank Bryce, was suspected of the crime, then declared innocent. Frank Bryce, now an elderly man, wakes in the night to see a light in the window of the abandoned Riddle House. He investigates and overhears Voldemort and Wormtail plotting to kill a boy named Harry Potter. Voldemort takes note of him and kills him on the spot. Harry Potter wakes up in the night with a throbbing pain in the scar Voldemort gave him. He worries that Voldemort is nearby, and he writes to Sirius Black, his godfather, mentioning the pain in his scar.

The next morning Harry's Uncle Vernon receives a letter from the Weasleys asking Harry to join them at the Quidditch World Cup, and Vernon grudgingly agrees to let Harry go. The following day, the Weasleys arrive in the Dursleys' boarded-up fireplace to pick up Harry. The Weasley twins "accidentally" leave a trick toffee on the ground, which Dudley eats, causing his tongue to engorge itself. The Dursleys panic and throw things at Mr. Weasley as the Weasley boys and Harry exit through the fireplace. Harry arrives at The Burrow, the Weasley household, and there he meets for the two eldest Weasley brothers, Bill and Charlie, and there, Mrs. Weasley berates the twins for making Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and giving them to Dudley.

Early the next morning, the Weasleys, Harry and Hermione head off to the Quidditch World Cup. They travel by Portkey, a process that involves using a piece of trash as a touchstone for warping across space. They use the same Portkey as Cedric Diggory, another Hogwarts student, and his dad. Together they are carried to the World Cup campground. Upon arrival, the Weasleys, Harry and Hermione head off to pitch their tent. Soon, Ludo Bagman arrives, jubilant at the festivities, and makes a wager with the twins on the outcome of the Cup. Soon afterward, Mr. Crouch arrives, throwing Percy into a great reverent fuss. Before they leave, they allude to a mysterious event that will happen at Hogarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione buy souvenirs and troop to the Top Box, where they meet Winky, a house-elf who is saving a seat for her master. The game begins, after a show from the respective mascots. In the end, Ireland wins, but Viktor Krum, the Bulgarian Seeker, catches the Snitch.

The night after the game, a crowd of Death Eaters, followers of Voldemort who escaped punishment, torture four Muggles by levitating them in the air. Harry, Hermione and Ron escape by fleeing into the woods, where Harry discovers that his wand is missing. Moments later someone fires the Dark Mark (the sign of Voldemort) using his or her wand. Winky the house-elf is found holding a wand at the scene of the crime. Mayhem ensues at the Ministry of Magic through the week.

Ron receives horrible second-hand robes from his mother and is upset. Amos Diggory brings news that a man named Mad-Eye Moody attacked an intruder at his house. Mr. Weasley runs to the Ministry to sort everything out. The Weasleys, Harry, and Hermione take taxis to the train station and board the train to Hogwarts. Upon arriving, after the Sorting ceremony and in the middle of dinner in the Hogwarts Great Hall, Dumbledore announces that the Triwizard Tournament between schools will take place this year at Hogwarts, and also that Mad-Eye Moody will be the new teacher of defense against the dark arts.

Mad-Eye Moody is a competent teacher. He turns Malfoy into a ferret for trying to attack Harry while Harry's back is turned. In class, Moody teaches Gryffindor the three unforgivable curses, Imperius, Cruciatus, and Avada Kedavra (the curse that killed Harry's parents). Meanwhile, Hermione founds a society that advocates freeing house-elves, who are slaves. She asks Harry and Ron to wear badges. As Defense Against the Dark Arts progresses, Harry learns to successfully ward off the Imperius Curse.

In late October, the delegates from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang arrive, and Ron is thrilled to see that Viktor Krum, a famous Quidditch player, has come with Durmstrang. On halloween night, the Goblet of Fire spits out the names of the champions who will compete in the Triwizard Tournament; along with Cedric Diggory, Fleur Delacour, and Viktor Krum, Harry Potter is selected. Mass chaos ensues, since Harry is too young. But because the Goblet's decision is final, it is generally decided that Harry is obligated to compete. Gryffindor House is triumphant, but Ron is sullen and envious, and he doesn't speak to Harry for quite some time. School resumes, and Harry is frustrated that few people believe he didn't place his own name in the Goblet of Fire. The first task approaches, and Harry is fretful; during the weighing of the wands, a reporter named Rita Skeeter accosts Harry and interviews him for what she says is a story about the tournament, but instead publishes a sappy, exaggerated article about Harry's tragic past.

A few nights before the task, Hagrid invites Harry for a late night walk, which ultimately turns into a glimpse of the first task: dragons. Harry hurries home, and in the Gryffindor common room fireplace, Sirius's head appears, warning Harry that Karkaroff, the head of Durmstrang, was a Death Eater and possibly still is dangerous, and that Moody was the Ministry's best dark wizard catcher ever, and is probably at Hogwarts for a reason. The next day, Harry warns Cedric about the first task; Moody overhears, commends Harry's decency, and hints that Harry should use his broomstick to get past the dragon. Harry and Hermione spend hours practicing summoning charms, and the day of the first task, Harry summons his broomstick and flies past the dragon, capturing the golden egg and receiving high marks. Everyone in Gryffindor is ecstatic, and Ron and Harry are reunited.

Soon afterward, Hermione drags Harry and Ron down to the kitchens, where they encounter Dobby, who is thrilled at his freedom, and Winky, Mr. Crouch's ex- house-elf, who is miserable at hers. In class, Professor McGonagall announces that the Yule Ball is approaching and that the champions must find partners; this is an unexpected and difficult task. Harry gathers his courage to ask Cho, but finds out that she is already going with Cedric. Hermione has a date, but won't say who it is; and she is annoyed when Ron asks her as his last-resort date. Finally, Harry and Ron procure the pretty but annoying Patil twins as their partners for the Yule Ball. On Christmas, the night of the ball, Ron wears his awful dress robes and spends the entire night staring at Hermione, who is there as Viktor Krum's date. Harry spends the whole night feeling miserable about Cho and Cedric, and so Harry and Ron leave the ball for a stroll, during which they overhear Hagrid telling Madame Maxime, the giant head of Beauxbatons, that he is half-giant. After the ball that night, Cedric hints for Harry to take a bath with the golden egg, but Harry is wary of this advice. Harry returns to Gryffindor tower to find that Hermione and Ron are having a huge fight about why she went to the ball with Krum instead of with him.

The next day, Hagrid is not teaching class. Rita Skeeter has written an article saying that his ancestors, who are giants, give him a violent and dangerous nature. He is embarrassed and refuses to emerge from his cabin. During a trip to Hogsmeade, Ludo Bagman offers to help Harry with the tournament and mentions that Mr. Crouch has stopped coming to work. Hermione insults Rita for writing such horrible articles. Harry, Ron, and Hermione return to Hogwarts, visit Hagrid, and persuade him to return. Hagrid is grateful for their loyalty, and he begs Harry to win the tournament. That night Harry takes the egg into the bathtub. It sings that he will have an hour to reclaim something valuable that has been taken into the lake. On his way back to his dorm from the bathroom, Harry, wearing his Invisibility cloak, checks his Marauder's Map and spies Mr. Crouch in Snape's office. In his surprise, he drops the golden egg, which makes a loud screeching noise. Filch and Snape appear instantly. Moody also appears, shoos away the other men and returns Harry's egg to him. Moody asks to borrow the Marauder's Map, which shows every part of Hogwarts grounds and castle, and where every person is within it.

The night before the second task, Harry still has not figured out how to breathe under water. He falls asleep in the library and is awakened in the morning by Dobby, who gives him a ball of gillyweed and sends him off to the lake, where the task is starting. The gillyweed gives Harry gills, so he swims easily through the lake, finding Hermione, Ron, Cho, and Fleur's sister asleep and tied together in a merpeople village. Harry waits to make sure all of the champions rescue their hostages before returning to the surface. Fleur never comes, so he returns with her sister and with Ron, coming up last, but gaining high marks for his moral fiber in his completion of the task.

Soon afterwards, Rita Skeeter publishes an article claiming that Hermione toys with the hearts of both Harry and Krum. The three friends read the article in potions class. After class, Harry overhears Karkaroff confiding fearfully in Snape that something on his arm has returned. The following day, Harry, Ron, and Hermione meet Sirius Black, disguised as a large black dog named Padfoot, in Hogsmeade. He informs them that Mr. Crouch's son was convicted as a Death Eater, and he finds it peculiar that Mr. Crouch has not been coming to work, as well as that he never showed up to take the seat saved by Winky, his house-elf, at the World Cup. Back at Hogwarts, Harry, Ron, and Hermione visit the kitchens to give a gift of socks to Dobby, who is delighted. Winky is still sad and currently drunk, and she mentions between hiccups that she is guarding a great secret for her ex-master. Around this time, Hermione begins getting hate mail for supposedly breaking Harry Potter's heart.

The four champions are taken to see the grounds for the maze, their third task, and on the way back, Krum pulls Harry into the forest to ask if he is at all romantically interested inHermione. When Harry answers no, a disheveled Mr. Crouch appears from the forest, speaking to trees and madly demanding to see Dumbledore. Harry runs to get Dumbldore while Krum waits with Mr. Crouch; when Harry returns, Mr. Crouch has stunned Krum and disappeared, much to everyone's puzzlement. Sirius sends Harry a letter warning him to be careful and to practice hexes for the third task; Harry tries to follow both instructions. In Divination class, Harry falls asleep and dreams about Voldemort, and he wakes up screaming and clutching his scar. Harry leaves class and goes to tell Dumbledore what happened. As he waits for Dumbledore to return to his office, he peers into a Pensieve and enters Dumbledore's memories of various Death Eater trials, including that of Ludo Bagman, Karkaroff, and Mr. Crouch's son. Dumbledore returns, pulls Harry from the memory-world, listens to his story, and says that he suspects that Voldemort is growing stronger.

The morning of the third task, Rita Skeeter prints an article about how Harry fainted in class and is possibly disturbed. The evening of the task, the four champions enter the maze, and Harry finds his path relatively manageable. Soon both Fleur and Krum are out of the running, and Harry and Cedric, the only remaining contestants, arrive at the trophy at the same time, and they both agree to touch it together. The trophy turns out to be a portkey, and it takes both boys to a far away graveyard, where a man in a hood instantly kills Cedric and ties up Harry. The man, Wormtail, drops the bundle he is carrying (Voldemort's current form) into a cauldron, as well as ashes from Voldemort's father, blood from Harry's arm, and Wormtail's own right hand. Voldemort resumes his body and rises from the cauldron. Voldemort presses a tattoo of the Dark Mark on Wormtail's arm, and suddenly Death Eaters begin appearing in a circle around them. Voldemort explains to Harry and his Death Eaters his fall from and rise back to power, and then he challenges Harry to a duel. Harry prepares for death, but he manages to use the disarming spell on Voldemort just as Voldemort cries "Avada Kedavra!" the killing curse, at Harry. The light from the two wands meets in midair and remains connected. Voldemort's past victims emerge from his wand and protect Harry once the wand connection is broken, giving him time to grab Cedric's body and touch the trophy, thus returning to Hogwarts.

Once Harry returns, he is weak and shaken. Moody carries him into the castle, where Moody reveals that he is in fact a Death Eater, and that he was responsible for placing Harry's name in the Goblet and for turning the trophy into a portkey. Moody also informs Harry that Karkaroff felt his Dark Mark burn and then fled that night. Moody prepares to kill Harry when Dumbledore and other teachers burst into the room, stunning Moody and saving Harry. Dumbledore explains to Harry that Moody's body is a disguised version of Mr. Crouch's son, the young Barty, and that he has made the switch by drinking Polyjuice potion every hour. After some time, the potion wears off and Harry recognizes Barty Crouch. Snape gives Crouch truth serum, and Crouch explains how his father smuggled him out of prison and allowed him to live under an Invisibility cloak, guarded by Winky; and how Bertha Jorkins discovered him and ultimately was relieved of his information by Voldemort, who returned to find young Crouch. He also says that he killed his father, and that he was hoping to bring Voldemort back into power by bringing Harry to him. Then Dumbledore takes Harry into his own office, where he asks Harry to explain what he saw in the graveyard to him and to Sirius, who had arrived. After listening to Harry, Dumbledore explains that the wands of Harry and Voldemort are made of feathers from the same phoenix, so one was forced to regurgitate its spells when the two wants met.

Harry is sent to bed, and in the night he is awakened by an argument between Cornelius Fudge and Dumbledore, in which Dumbledore tries unsuccessfully to persuade Fudge to take precautions against Voldemort's new power. Fudge refuses to believe that this is possible. He gives Harry the tournament prize money and leaves huffily. Soon the term ends, and at the final dinner Dumbledore makes a speech telling everyone how Cedric was murdered by Voldemort, and how the future looks bleak and would require them to join together. On the train ride back to London, Hermione shows Harry and Ron a beetle in a jar—Rita Skeeter's animagus form—that she caught and warned not to write any more untrue things. As the students leave the train, Harry gives his gold to the Weasley twins to help start their practical joke company, and he asks that they use some of it to buy Ron a new pair of dress robes. Harry returns to the Dursleys for the summer.

Aarav goyal 8B
Book name-robinson Crusoe
Author- Daniel Defoe
no of pages- 198

Time taken -2 hours
Summary- Robinson Crusoe, as a young and impulsive wanderer, defied his parents and went to sea. He was involved in a series of violent storms at sea and was warned by the captain that he should not be a seafaring man. Ashamed to go home, Crusoe boarded another ship and returned from a successful trip to Africa. Taking off again, Crusoe met with bad luck and was taken prisoner in Sallee. His captors sent Crusoe out to fish, and he used this to his advantage and escaped, along with a slave. He was rescued by a Portuguese ship and started a new adventure. He landed in Brazil, and, after some time, he became the owner of a sugar plantation. Hoping to increase his wealth by buying slaves, he aligned himself with other planters and undertook a trip to Africa in order to bring back a shipload of slaves. After surviving a storm, Crusoe and the others were shipwrecked. He was thrown upon shore only to discover that he was the sole survivor of the wreck.

Crusoe made immediate plans for food, and then shelter, to protect himself from wild animals. He brought as many things as possible from the wrecked ship, things that would be useful later to him. In addition, he began to develop talents that he had never used in order to provide himself with necessities. Cut off from the company of men, he began to communicate with God, thus beginning the first part of his religious conversion. To keep his sanity and to entertain himself, he began a journal. In the journal, he recorded every task that he performed each day since he had been marooned.

As time passed, Crusoe became a skilled craftsman, able to construct many useful things, and thus furnished himself with diverse comforts. He also learned about farming, as a result of some seeds which he brought with him. An illness prompted some prophetic dreams, and Crusoe began to reappraise his duty to God. Crusoe explored his island and discovered another part of the island much richer and more fertile, and he built a summer home there.

One of the first tasks he undertook was to build himself a canoe in case an escape became possible, but the canoe was too heavy to get to the water. He then constructed a small boat and journeyed around the island. Crusoe reflected on his earlier, wicked life, disobeying his parents, and wondered if it might be related to his isolation on this island.

After spending about fifteen years on the island, Crusoe found a man's naked footprint, and he was sorely beset by apprehensions, which kept him awake many nights. He considered many possibilities to account for the footprint and he began to take extra precautions against a possible intruder. Sometime later, Crusoe was horrified to find human bones scattered about the shore, evidently the remains of a savage feast. He was plagued again with new fears. He explored the nature of cannibalism and debated his right to interfere with the customs of another race.

Crusoe was cautious for several years, but encountered nothing more to alarm him. He found a cave, which he used as a storage room, and in December of the same year, he spied cannibals sitting around a campfire. He did not see them again for quite some time.

Later, Crusoe saw a ship in distress, but everyone was already drowned on the ship and Crusoe remained companionless. However, he was able to take many provisions from this newly wrecked ship. Sometime later, cannibals landed on the island and a victim escaped. Crusoe saved his life, named him Friday, and taught him English. Friday soon became Crusoe's humble and devoted slave.

Crusoe and Friday made plans to leave the island and, accordingly, they built another boat. Crusoe also undertook Friday's religious education, converting the savage into a Protestant. Their voyage was postponed due to the return of the savages. This time it was necessary to attack the cannibals in order to save two prisoners since one was a white man. The white man was a Spaniard and the other was Friday's father. Later the four of them planned a voyage to the mainland to rescue sixteen compatriots of the Spaniard. First, however, they built up their food supply to assure enough food for the extra people. Crusoe and Friday agreed to wait on the island while the Spaniard and Friday's father brought back the other men.

A week later, they spied a ship but they quickly learned that there had been a mutiny on board. By devious means, Crusoe and Friday rescued the captain and two other men, and after much scheming, regained control of the ship. The grateful captain gave Crusoe many gifts and took him and Friday back to England. Some of the rebel crewmen were left marooned on the island.

Crusoe returned to England and found that in his absence he had become a wealthy man. After going to Lisbon to handle some of his affairs, Crusoe began an overland journey back to England. Crusoe and his company encountered many hardships in crossing the mountains, but they finally arrived safely in England. Crusoe sold his plantation in Brazil for a good price, married, and had three children. Finally, however, he was persuaded to go on yet another voyage, and he visited his old island, where there were promises of new adventures to be found in a later account
