I have been a Registered Nurse since 2008, when I graduated with my Master's in Nursing Administration and Healthcare Systems Management from the University of Texas at Austin. Before moving to School Nursing, I worked in the Operating Room at Seton Medical Center - Austin. I have been working with HEB ISD since 2010, and have proudly been at Harrison Lane Elementary since 2016. We can always use good, clean used children's t-shirts, shorts, and pants for those little accidents at school that require a change of clothing. Items that are not needed in the nurse's office will be sent to our district Clothes Closet. Donations of new, unused boys and girls underwear are accepted anytime!

As we progress through the school year, please keep in mind that schools are often a place a child will pass on an illness, infection, etc. Please keep your child home for the following reasons. These precautions aid in preventing the spread of illnesses to other children and teachers:

1. A fever of 100.0 degrees or more. It is very strongly encouraged that they not return to school until they have been fever-free for 24 hours, without fever-reducing medications such as Tylenol or Motrin. Please do not give your child with a fever Tylenol/Motrin and then send them to school.

2. A rash of unknown origin, or a rash with fever.

3. Active, live head lice.

4. Crusting or thick, yellow mucus from the eye(s) accompanied by redness of the eye itself.

5.
