Sensitivity programs and further steps should be taken in order to elliminate the prejudice.

Our trainer, Patricia, was born listener but lost her hearing due to meningitis when she was eight. In addition to teaching us her language, she shares some obstacles and conquests in the deaf community. The ones that I'd like to highlight for you today is the screaming lack of sign speakers in public services, in every sector - education, health, finances etc. - so, for example, if for some reason you (as a deaf person) need an ambulance, chances are nobody in that first aid team, or even at the hospital, will be able to communicate or understand you.

There is no shortage of difficulties in this community, but through the years there have also been some victories!
