In this sense, education, which is closely connected to his idea of ​​democracy, is identified as an important and primary process in the life of every individual, intertwining with the concept of experience that Dewey defines as the place of training, characterized by educational practices active and socializing, developed in a stimulating and above all daily environment.

Some fundamental aspects of his theory concern the value of democracy; activism, interdisciplinarity, the centrality of the student who learns, not only in school but in all life situations, understood in the dimension of sociality. This dimension of knowledge also guides his conception of school, of scientific research and also of work; it even comes to coincide with the sphere of morality
