Henry Morton Stanley was the original "explorer" of the congo. In 1874, he went throughout Africa on his "expedition", where he battled many natives, and even some of his own men. He travelled around 7,000 miles across Africa, saying that the congo is the grand highway of commerce to west central africa. Henry Morton Stanley is guilty because of the fact that he willingly committed many inhumane acts to the people of the Congo, as well as negotiating harmful treaties and more.
