         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Greed and excess money can lead to destruction</strong></div><div>Kino at first had pure thoughts, he wanted to let his son go to school so that way he can read and know what is written in the books. Although he had pure thoughts everyone else did not, they thought of all the ways the pearl could benifit them and and how Kino was in the way of all the dreams the pearl could grant. Perhaps Kino had never thought that the people would do anthing to get it but he soon finds out. Kino didn’t want to give up the pearl, the pearl that carried all his dreams and plans, because of this the pearl got to Kino, he let greed and money take over him, the people fell victim to it as well, that is why in the end nothing good came of the pearl.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Choices determine your fate, not luck. <br></strong>Despite how it may have seemed, it was not luck that led them to the pearl and  led them to their corupption, it was choice. When they found the pearl it was Kino's choice to pick that pearl and that led him to make all the other choices, none of it was by luck.After getting the pearl Kino made the choice to dedicate the money to Coyotito but it was also his choice to go against all of what believed, it was his choices that led him to choose the pearl over family.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Racial and cultural oppression engenders violence</strong><br>The people on the other side, with the better house and not brushed houses, treated Kino and the rest of his family and neighbors differently. Because of this it led to the pearl which led to greed and corruption. The doctor didn't treat Coyotito because Kino and the rest were like animals to him. That led to Kino hitting the gate because he was so mad that a doctor wouldn't treat his hurt baby. All of violence happened because the doctor wouldn't help people of dofferent races.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
