During FB666 I planned, organised, filmed, and edited my own documentary on an American football team based in Wembley. I focused on the husband and wife duo of Warren and Jackie and their goals for their women's team.

It was a process I really enjoyed and took valuable lessons from. I learnt how to work with new people and organise a more extensive project. I was able to arrange meetings to establish ideas and a route we would go down with the film. Filming and editing were something I hadn’t done a lot before. I hadn’t used the cameras before this process so I had to learn quickly. I feel like I did this well. I also hadn’t edited anything to that length before and I learnt a lot whilst editing. Filming and editing were two things I didn't think I enjoyed before making this documentary, however, I feel this has changed and I have found I enjoyed the process as well as developed my skills greatly. 

The main thing that went well during this process was my two main interviews with Jackie and Warren as I was able to get a lot of content from these interviews that provided me with a range of angles for the documentary. Filming them first was also useful as I was able to film gym sessions and rookie days accordingly to match what I wanted to use from the interview. Also, the number of filming days that I had access to was very helpful as I could constantly review footage and start the editing process and see what I needed to film next time to fill in any gaps. Something that didn’t go as well was I would film and cut the clip off too quickly which would mean sometimes I miss something that could be useful or the clip wouldn't be long enough for a still or would not have proper entry and exit points for transitions. I did do this towards the end of my filming process as I began to notice when reviewing footage that this was needed.

If I was to repeat this process there are a few things that I would do differently. I would film clips for longer. I would also use the archive footage of the women however there was trouble getting this and more time was needed. I also would get another interview with one of the players and ask about Warren and Jackie's role at the club and how important they are however due to filming days and there not always being a lot of women at some sessions this, unfortunately, didn’t happen. 

Overall I am very happy that we are able to film a documentary before we film one for our dissertation as it was a real eye-opener into how the process works and allowed me to make mistakes and errors that I will not make next time. I am also proud of myself for what I put together considering I had not filmed or edited anything like this before.
