First month and first of the year,
 For my tall Christmas tree,
 May a good year commence for all
 And the church of the holy throne
 
 The first time that Christ emerged
 Holy and Spiritual,
 To walk the earth and
 Fill our hearts with joy

 Saint Basil is coming,
 And is accepting of all of us
 He comes from Caesarea,
 Thou (Virgin Mary) are the Lady of the house
 
 He's holding an icon and a paper,
 Sweet bread,
 Paper and pen
 See me, the lad here too!
 
 The pen was writing,
 Telling him his fate and fortune
 And the paper spoke,
 My dear, holy St. Basil
 

And to this house which we have come

May it stand forevermore

And may the owners of the home

live a thousand years and more 

Good day noblemen, if this is your will

Today the Magi come to Herod's country (x2)

where the Virgin Mary is giving birth to Christ.” (x2)
