Shutter speed is responsible for two things: creating a dramatic affect whether is blurry motion or a still motion. the other is the brightness of the way you want your shutter speed. I noticed that the shutter speed is different from the seconds you put in. The slowest makes the picture look really bright and the fastest one makes it look dark but a clear view of it. I like using shutter speed because you can catch things in action or have a good blur in the background which can make the picture pop more than having a simple picture.
