In the past I've spent entire days staring at the laptop screen without taking a break, and it just wasn't healthy for my eyes or my head. By taking regular breaks, I avoided the eye fatigue that largely plagued me in the past. However, with CANVAS Support, Melanie Tyler, and a great deal of trial and error, I learned to love our new platform. 
 In my actual course, I tried to walk in the anxiety-filled shoes of my students, whose stressors are more constant and demanding, than any I experienced as a teen. Trying to be more empathetic, patient and positive really helped in dealing with students who were  "on the academic brink"! On the communication side, I learned that students respond well to more face-to-face teaching, more practice and more opportunities to interact with the instructor.  On writing objectives and QM overall, I learned how important it is to take the time to make sure our activities and assessments line up with the objectives, and to point them out to students, in some way, to give them more knowledge about the big picture and their goals and how they fit together.   I learned more about teamwork with our faculty and admin and our PLC groups and interacting in our meetings, helping each other and working together. There is always someone willing to answer questions and help.
