"Uprising" by Margaret Peterson Haddix takes place in 1910, New York. The story is about three young ladies, Bella, a girl from Italy that came for a job, Yetta, a girl that is building a Union and is planing for a strike, and Jane, a rich girl who is dreaming to go to collage, fighting for women's equality. The three girls don't know each other at first, but as the story goes on, they build friendship and fight together. At last, the Triangle Shirtwaist factory, the factory where Bella and Yetta are working gets caught on fire by a cigarette fire, and Yetta and Jane pass.
