This video is shorter, but both recommend using romaji to type--NOT KANA. For that you'd need a special keyboard and you'd need to remember where all the keys are.

Anime for Learning JP

That Japanese Man Yuta (yes, that's the channel name) gives pretty good tips on how to use anime to learn Japanese. This video is a bit old, but you could still find these either on Netflix, Hulu or Crunchy Roll. I also used to use the VRV app (so if you have enough patience to sit through ads, it's pretty good.)

There are channels like this one on YouTube that make their own anime and teach you phrases, vocab, etc. This one is specifically for beginners, but they do some for higher levels. So make sure to check out the N5 ones.

I highly recommend staying away from Google Translate. It's gotten better, but it's terrible for translating Japanese. If you're not sure how to say something, I recommend using HiNative, HelloTalk, your dictionary or the following site I've included here.
