Antonio follows Gonzalo with a similar attitude when he notes, "Hang, cur, hang, you whoreson, insolent / noisemaker! We are less afraid to be drowned than / thou art" (Shakespeare 1.1.44-46).

Prospero is angered: "Once in a month recount what thou hast been, / Which thou forget'st. This damned witch Sycorax, / For mischiefs manifold, and sorceries terrible / To enter human hearing" (Shakespeare1.2.315-318).

Antonio uses power by overthrowing his Brother and becoming a duke and he uses it for the worse. Rather Prospero had also used his power for evil. Although might have not been that harsh he saved Ariel and then enslaved him. Which is him using his power for the greater good. Even though Ariel has more power than Prospero he still is enslaved due to the lack of knowledge Ariel has.

Not only does Antonio verbally abuse the boatswain, but he also says that he is less fearful of drowning than the crew is, meaning that he is still viewing his status as a protective layer that will not allow him to drown. More evidence is the sailors had more knowledge of the boat and more power due to the knowledge about the boat. Rather the people with status may be royals however, in that instance the boats men had better power.

Knowledge affects power, not status. Power comes in different forms.

Conolisim saw society and took over.

Miranda is shocked by who stands before her which is Ferdinand and states, "'Lord, how it looks about!... A thing divine, for nothing natural/ I ever saw so noble'" (Shakespeare 1.2.439.499-500).

Gonzalo had helped Prospero on his journey and Prospero talks greatly of him explaining, "'A noble Neapolitan, Gonzalo, / Out of his charity... /Knowing I loved my books, he furnished me'" (Shakespeare 1.2.192-193.198).

Knowledge helps form a "better" perspective.

Gonzalo has been through more with both sides. He respects most and he helps Prospero escape the island. Yet he is loyal to Alonso and he does have knowledge and power. Yet both of those also affect the perspectives. The experiences he has gone through

Miranda has limited perspectives when it comes to human interactions. If Fernandid weren't a good guy she would have made a foolish act by falling in love with the first person she sees however, due to her never experiencing that leads to her limited perspective on people as a whole. Sheltered she hasn't had human interactions.

"Although this lord of weak remembrance—this,/ Who shall be of as little memory" (Shakespeare 2.1.63-64).

Gonslo: He was able to take things from the table because he has a pure heart and he had helped various people in the past and current. His heart is way purer than Sebastian Antonio well they were plotting for death.

Sebastian and Antonio crave power and they were willing to kill Alonso who was the king. Sebastian wants to kill his brother Alonso just to get the power Alonso has. Antonio overthrew his brother just for his power and banished Prospero for the power he held.

Knowledge: wants to get the books because if one knows they can take over power.

Caliban tasks about overthrowing prospero by taking his books. His books contain knowledge and if one knows they can overthrow them using their power.

Those who commit actions don't realize what they are doing; people have different perspectives depending on where they are in the situation.

Ariel punished those who hurt Prospero from the perspective he saw, "You are three men of sin, whom Destiny,/ That hath to instrument this lower world" (Shakespeare 3.3.70-71).

After Ferdinand expresses his love to Miranda she exclaims, "I am your wife if you will marry me" (Shakespeare 3.1.100).

Arial punished the three Alonso, Sebastian, and Antonio for being horrible and doing all those things to prospero just for this power.

Miranda has never been in love before. Therefore her seeing Feridiand she fell in love. And comes to show Ferdinand feels the same way. However, from her father's perspective, he doesn't feel as eager as Miranda because she is her daughter and he wants to be protective of her.

Prospero is seeking revenge through negative emotions and he is abusing his power by seeking such hard revenge for what happened long ago. I mean Alonso, Sebastian, and Antonio do deserve that. However, maybe not as harsh and not in that matter. Rather Prospero should have had an actual conversation with them, than punish them in such a way years later.

Evidence: "The rarer action is /In virtue than in vengeance" (Shakespeare 5.1.35-36).

"This airy charm is for, I'll break my staff... I'll drown my book" (Shakespeare 5.1.63.67).

Reasoning: After talking with Ariel Prospero realizes he could be a better person the bigger person. And look at this situation in a different way. Instead of being so negative and angered, he can respond in a better way. This also shows character development because he has been holding a grudge and is upset and the power of his actions had responding to that. However, now that he thinks of this situation in a different way instead of being angered responding with virtue. He said he was going to break his stick and give up his magic however in a good way, letting it go without giving others that power rather he is getting rid of his magic. Saying he will drown his book and break his staff.

Maybe theme:

• Those who are honest in life and don't love to get something in return tend to get the most rewarded. In society people tend to love however, most don't genuinely respect their partner; which can lead to dishonesty.

• People who tend to hold a grudge struggle in the long wrong and take issues in a negative matter. When holding a grudge people seek revenge and get angered quickly.

Reasoning:

ARIEL GETS SET FREE IN ACT 5 98 line. GO BACK TO IT IF NEEDED.

• There is respect and virtue in Ferdinand and is marrying her for true love and not power.

• After Miranda and Ferdinand's love is connected they agree to get married. Both Iris and Ceres are there to celebrate their love and their marriage.

• Caliban is trying to kill Prospero and he knows this through Ariel and Ariel told him. And he breaks up Miranda and Prospero

• Prospero gets upset and he is powerful and a bit greedy and he is holding a grudge against people who had treated him badly in the past. He gets angered quite quickly. He does get character development. And when Prospero and Ariel are talking Ariel convinces Prospero in a good way. And this leads to power and Perspective, since

• The rich fansty clothing represents power because it's what the lords wore so he thought that if he had worn it then he would be powerful as well. (trincolo and Stephano are the ones that get tempted and distracted by the clothing. (REPRESENTING POWER)).

• Prospero outs the men for plotting to kill him and they get very defensive about it.

  
  

Power gets conveyed in many different forms and regardless of how it is shown; it needs to be used judiciously; those who don’t use it wisely make foolish choices which can cause society to crash.

Perspective:

People have different perspectives depending on where they are in the situation. Often in situations, people will take things a different way; which affects how they act on the circumstance.
