O'Brien got Winston to believe that brotherhood is still a thing, he challenged Winston's thoughts on Big Brother because he showed that the brotherhood still has a say in things. Winston really wants to believe what O'Brien is saying, but he's not sure if he's telling the truth. I believe that Winston just wants to desperately believe in something that will give him hope in the future, that way he won't believe that he has believed in something fake for such a long time. O'Brien will give him the dictionary and he suspects to find a hidden note or message in it. Winston’s hope lies in O’Brien, he thinks this is his fate. Winston also believes this might lead him to death but he has followed the idea of making a rebellion and defeat BB for so long and now it’s time to make his words turn into action. I believe that Winston puts all of his faith in O'Brien to create a future where he can be himself and live a normal life with Julia.

Before meeting O'Brien, Winston thought Big Brother could be outrooted with random acts of rebellion. Now, he understands this is not the way to Big Brother's unmasking. There is someway to effectively attack the government, and O'Brien knows it. Winston doesn't know it, but desperately wants to, which results in a desperate desire to believe O'Brien. This is his fate, he knows he can't control his life from now on. He decided to jump into a river with his first rebellious thoughts, now there is no other way to remain alive but to let the stream carry him. Any spark of intention to doubt his purpose and try to escape his fate, will result in death, not only his but also Julia's. Winston has to remain strong at the same time he lets the consequences of his decisions carry him to: "His Ultimate Goall" -whatever it may be.

O’Brien discusses with Winston the tenth edition of the Newspeak dictionary, and tells him that he can take a look at it if he makes a visit one evening. Winston feels confortable with regards to the conspiracy that he has dreamed of. He feels that this event is a continuation of what he started with the diary and then with his affair with Julia. Yet he still accepts that it will eventually lead to death at the Ministry of Love. O'Brien is changing Winston's thoughts about Big Brother because he proved that brotherhood is a thing. Winston thinks that he will be joining a true rebellion to the party. I think it could be his fate because was always following what Big Brother says.

Winston thought that they could “beat” BB by doing rebellious acts, but he also knows that it is difficult because the he has a lot of power. O’Brien makes Winston believe that the Brotherhood still exists. I think Winston is not sure of whether O’Brien is telling the truth or not, but he wants to believe on him because he is really desperate to find more ways to rebel against BB and expose the truth. O’Brien and Winston were talking about the Newspeak, and then he tells Winston he would give him a dictionary. Maybe there is a hint in it that tells a way to defeat the government. I think all of this is Winston’s fate. Since he started to do rebellious acts he can’t stop and he will continue doing them until it comes the time to defeat BB. His faith is on O’Brien and he is waiting for him to do the first move and then follow him.

He always thought the Brotherhood could overpower the government, but he never saw signs of it. This act by O'Brien lights a fire in Winston who wants to believe that there is a way to go against Big Brother. O'Brien communicates in a sevret way, by coded messages like the reference to Syme. They talk about Newspeak and the new dictionary, this might be a way to pass secret information. I don't believe there is fate, but I do think Winston believes this is his. He sees himself walking to a certain death, which I think will happen later on the book, and this is why he believes the has to leave some kind of legacy

Winston is watching that O'Brien was doing small acts that will make other people follow him and rebel against the big brother. Winston just wants to believe in O'Brien because he talks in secret messages and they talk about newspapers and things they are doing against the government. O'Brien knows things that Winston doesn't know so this makes Winston follow him. Winston is walking to dead because rebelling the government is really dangerous. This is fate because believing in other person you don't know is fate because this could take you to death but Winston doen't care. Winston thought that the way to rebel against BB was by little acts of rebellion but this is very difficult becuase BB is very powerfull. O'Brien said that the Brotherhood exists, and Winston does not know wether to believe him or not. I think that the only reason why Winston is considering to believe O'Brien is because he thought that if the Brotherhhod existed it had more power than the government. So, the Brotherhood would be a very good option to rebel against BB. They were talking about the Newspeak and O'Brien told Winston that he would gave him a dictionary. I think that rebelling against BB became like an obsession to Winston because he thinks that everything that happens to him can be used against BB. This can cause him trouble because it would be easy to set him a trap. Now, Winston's faith relies on O'Brein.

Winston decided to desperately believed in O'Brien's words, because Winston is obsessed with a rebellion. He thinks that the brotherhood is the most efficient way to rebel. Winston thinks that this brotherhood has a lot of power, since his little acts of rebellion don't take him forward. In my opinion, if a brotherhood exists they shall be in secret and have a lot of member with power. Power to defeat the government, this is what Winston thinks of them. Winston thinks this is his faith to follow O'Brien's word and continue what he started before. Since everything is secret, they discuss a topic. They where talking about, the tenth edition of Newspeak, O'Brien invited Winston to visit him later during the noon. This might be a bigger meeting for new ideas.

O’Brien challenges things Winston previously thought by committing thought crime. Winston already had the idea that O’Brien might be like him, against BB, but he wasn’t quite sure. Now, his suspicions have grown because O’Brien talks to him about Syme, the Newspeak expert who has been vanished. BB has strictly decided that talking about vanished people is breaking the law. I think Winston is just desperate to believe in O’Brien because he is willing to die, in hands of the Ministry of Truth, in order to talk with him. I think the reason for this has to do with Julia, because he’s willing to risk everything in order to have a slight possibility for him and Julia to be together. I think Winston feels with more power, since he has committing rebellious acts for a long time now and he hasn’t been caught. Because he hasn’t been caught before he’s hoping he won’t be caught this time too. I think Winston is going to die, he’s going too far against BB and O’Brien could change everything, either by helping o by turning Winston in.
