I've been doing some more studying on Bob Ross' wet-on-wet technique. I had trouble following along with it when I was actually painting, but hopefully I will be able to follow along better this time. I am learning to trust myself when I paint. I try too hard not to make mistakes, which causes me to make mistakes or "happy accidents." Since I am using oil paint, which does not dry for a long time, the picture is highly malleable and can easily be changed. This makes painting easier, but at the same time, more difficult for me. I am still in the beginning stages of this project, so I am not hopeless just yet. I will continue to study how this technique works and hopefully, I will get the gist of it so I can show more and more progress within my future paintings.

I have been studying Bob Ross videos all week. I have mainly been studying his wet-on-wet technique. This technique requires the painter to continue adding wet paint on top of already wet paint instead of waiting lengthy amounts of time for the paint to dry. If done correctly, this technique can help blend colors and textures together in a satisfying way. Because he uses this, I know I will not be able to use acrylic paints for any of my paintings, since it dries too fast and overall does not work for his kind of paintings. I have decided to follow his "Shades of Grey" tutorial. This painting only requires black and white paint, so I did not have to spend too much money on paint. Brushes, an easel, paint thinner, and canvas were expensive, but not too expensive. It has been a pretty relaxing week, but I know that it will get more difficult when I actually try to paint.

I have been studying Bob Ross' brush strokes for the painting tutorial that I have been following this entire time. I have even done a painting without watching the tutorial. This has shown me that I am becoming more independent with the way I do my pieces. I am proud of myself for that. Hopefully I can continue feeling as comfortable as to paint without a tutorial. I am going to be doing a painting every day this week until I run out of canvases. I am discovering my own art style and I am coming along. My last painting will, by far, be my best painting. I am excited for what is to come from me this week, having learned everything that I have learned so far.

I am slowly approaching the time in which I complete my final painting. For this painting, I will once again follow along with a tutorial, but I will remember to make my own decisions and stick with my own art style. This is one thing that has remained important to me since I started executing my project. I will take what I have learned and I will use it. My only goal is to show that I have grown and learned many different things in this process.
