How was I resilient?

Today throughout the course of the dragon day number 1, I was resilient by being open minded to my teammates opinions and ideas, as we would all have different opinions, although we constantly talked back and forth, and had to be open minded to find a way to include everyone’s ideas and make sure that everyone felt included and happy. Also when we ran into a problem with the efficiency of the internet, we were resilient by being creative and thinking of different ways to record our thoughts and ideas by using pen and paper or pages and notes on the computer. One final way was we constantly checked in with each other and helped each other get past their problems by thinking up ways together to avoid the issue or prevent it from happening again.

How did my group show perseverance?

My group showed perseverance today by keep on going even without one group member, as when Auriane had to go to hijirizaka, we were left with 4 people, therefore we had to do double the work, and make sure that everyone was focused. The way in which we did this was we showed each other our laptops every now and then to make sure each other were on track, and not stuck anywhere, therefore if they were stuck, then we could help each other overcome their problems, and give them emotional support so that they would not lose all hope and faith.

What did I contribute?

Today in my dragon days group, I contributed by focusing on my work, and helping my group members with their issues whenever they hit a bump in the road. I did this by focusing on my work, and by working efficiently but effectively, as I would finish my work quicker, and then assist the people around me, although I would still make sure all of the work was high quality. Also I would manage my group and make sure that we are all on task, and are where we are supposed to be, therefore allowing us to have a high quality of work, as well as finish it much quicker than the rest of the groups.

What can you improve tomorrow?

Tomorrow I could improve so that I am more efficient and I practice saying what I write out loud, as sometimes I can get carried away and start writing a bunch of nonsense but pitch’s are often precise and short as it makes them more memorable. Therefore I would like to summarise my work more so that tomorrow we have a strong pitch and idea to convince the audience into believing in our idea.

Our group showed perseverance today by continuing to push away the weather as an obstacle, and instead use it as an advantage, as we tried practicing under shelter outside in a harder terrain to better improve our performance as we would be less nervous, and more prepared. Also we showed perseverance by getting past the issue with the internet by working offline then translating it online. One more thing was we found a better way to practice by walking up and down the stairs while practicing in order to check if it truly was an elevator pitch and not just an ongoing lecture.

What did you contribute?

Today I contributed a lot of different and diverse ideas towards how we could include and interact with our audience more to make it more memorable like when asking them questions about their opinions, asking rhetorical questions and more. Also I thought of creative ways to gain confidence when performing in front of a large crowd by getting us to perform under cover in the rain in order for our group to speak louder, and perform much better in order for the audience to ignore the rain.

What can I improve tomorrow?

Tomorrow I think I need to continue on pushing myself and the people around me to perform their best, and to keep the standard high, as I would like to create a strong environment and atmosphere around the classroom. Also I think I would like to continue to summarise my work so that it is precise but intriguing, as it makes the information much more memorable, as well as it puts a lot less pressure on me, increasing the quality of the work that I produce both in and outside of class.

How has my thinking changed for live?

I now know that live means to take up any chances I receive and to live life to the fullest by interacting with a variety of communities, and not just staying in my own comfort zone, but to explore the world around me, and try new things everyday. Also it has taught me to look up from my phone and to experience the world around me, and not to just take life for granted, but to grow and prosper in life.

Over the past two days in Dragon Days, I have developed my organisation skills from other classes most, as I have had to organise with the rest of my group a pitch that seems memorable and intriguing for the audience. The way in which I improved this ATL was through communicating with the rest of the group both in and outside of school in order to solve any problems, and get past them, as well as to make sure that everyone was confident in what they were doing, and not afraid to try something new.
