Label the post with your name and class hour. Next, write a 3+ sentence explanation about the civil rights leader of choosing and why you feel he/she had the most impact on the Civil Rights movement. Be sure to include at least 1 of the pieces of strong evidence you selected from yesterday's lesson within your response. Need help? See the teacher example.

John Lewis was the most impactful Civil Rights leader as he made multiple efforts over a period of time to create change, many of which caused him distress or pain. For example, John Lewis was arrested three times for organizing and participating in non-violent lunch counter sit ins which greatly upset his mother. Another example that occurred around 6 years later is that John Lewis organized and led the march from Selma to Montgomery, now referred to as "Bloody Sunday." The event resulted in a fractured skull for Lewis but did "speed up the passage of 1965's Voting Rights Act."
