I didn't really know which category to put this under, but Amos is kind of degraded due to his Mizrachi (Yemenite) origins. When he first enters the car, one of the first things that he's asked is if he's Yemenite or Moroccan. This doesn't mean anything bad, but it does show the culture about origins in Israel. It is something that is highly regarded in Israeli culture. Later, the person who seems to be Noa's manager or agent asks, "there's another one like you?" when Amos told him he was on the phone with his brother and then goes on to say he would sue Amos' whole family tree including "the ones who are still in tin shacks in Yemen" if he were to leak that he was with Noa. This is using Amos' Yemenite and Mizrachi background as a means to threaten and degrade him. It also shows the big differences in classes and inequity among them, being that he assumes some of his family is living in poverty based upon where Amos is from.

The show itself portrays Noa as a rich and famous woman, while showing Amos coming from basically the opposite background. This shows the major cultural divides between the two and also shows the inequality in Israel. A clear example that shows this was in the first episode when Noa and Amos were entering the club. The bouncer helped Noa get through the crowd and allowed her through while holding the paparazzi and fans back, and subsequently held Amos back and didn't allow him to enter with Noa even though he had been with her. Noa then needed to go back and get him. Even though he was with her, the bouncer assumed he should be grouped in with the crowd and not allowed access to Noa.

Not only this, but Noa's manager/booker seemed to assert his dominance over Amos and used this against Amos.

At the club in the first episode, Amos seems to be uncomfortable and out of place. The show accentuates this by having him wear a more casual outfit while everyone else around his is dressed up. This highlights the major differences between him and the guests at the club, including Noa and her friends. This club represents luxury and wealth and he is out of place because it is not the background he comes from.

Big families all live together and it is common to live with your parents and family until you are married. This is really different than the traditional way people live in America where you live with only your immediate family, maybe grandparents too, and move out for college or work after high school. This shows the power and influence of family and familial relationships within these communities. This is shown throughout the series but especially in the 2nd episode where you can see the whole family talking about Amos and Vanessa and giving Amos advice. A friendly and fun atmosphere.

Noa made a remark about men who live with their parents, so Amos lied about his living situation. Then, when she went to dinner they needed to try and hide it. This is a difference in the family structures and relationships between different origins.

The challah connects them because Amos made it and Noa enjoys the meal even though it might not be exactly what she's used to. Food seems to be something that bridges gaps and brings different types of people together and gives them common ground.
