Hi All, 
Sorry I’m a little late to post.
This is my last subject in my Accounting HR Degree. I started studying in 2012 so it’s been a bit of a journey.
I have 2 adult kids & a six year old son of whom all live at home. I’m a sole parent & I work full-time so life is full. 
I had been working in another town at a small accounting firm but a desire to finish my studies with family support led me back to my roots.
I had full intentions of not working until my studies were done but life doesn’t work to my plans. 
I was offered a job part-time in a small manufacturing business- not so much as offered but begged to help. 
So instead of finishing my degree  & sitting pretty in an accounting firm using all my learned skills - I am working in a small firm & loving it. One of the owners is wanting to take a backward step so it’s now up to me to step up and take the reigns!!!
I believe a successful professional is somebody who strives to be the best that they can be & never gives up. Set backs happen- but somebody who keeps trying. They believe in themselves & their abilities & they treat others with the respect & empowerment that they themselves like to be treated. 
Great qualities- to be fair, to be transparent, to be innovative & open to new ideas and feedback. To push through the hard times & use that as a time of learning. To treat people as you would like to be treated. To have empathy and the ability to empower others to believe in themselves to work together as a team to create a nurturing learning & successful working environment!!!
That is the environment that I am hoping to create. Where staff feel supported & not afraid to admit to mistakes. Where customers feel heard and are treated with the respect they deserve. I believe also that all of the above helps facilitates the success of a company’s financial viability into the future.
