Describe the energy conversion
When the popper is bend inside out, elastic potential energy gets stored in the popper.
When the popper is released, the elastic potential energy is converted to kinetic energy which enables the popper to go up into the air.
The kinetic energy is converted into gravitational potential energy until a certain height. The gravitational potential energy is converted back to kinetic energy as it travels back down.

When the balloon is being released elastic potential energy is converted to kinetic energy which enables the paper ball to pop up into the air.
