It is also in a sub collection called Fugitive Slaves. The object is telling other slave owners to be on the lookout for runaway slaves. Four African American men in New York have run away. A man named Lester who is around 40 years old and was wearing a white flannel jacket, duck trowlers and a home made shirt. Caesar who’s 18 years old has on ‘fame Manner’. Isaac who is 17 years old who is wearing the same thing as Caesar but his “breeches” are leather. Lastly Mingo, who is 15 years old, is wearing the same clothes as Lester and Caesar. They are offering a reward stating that if you bring them back to the owner you will receive twenty shillings each as a reward but if you're able to provide information for their capture you will receive ten pounds when They are caught.

While searching for a concept I knew I wanted it to relate to learning how things have progressed over time for the good and unfortunately the bad. At first I was dead set on slavery in Jamaica which is my moms home country. I wanted to learn the history of her country. I wasn't satisfied with the archives on that topic so my idea changed to learning about slavery specifically in New York, where I was born and raise. Oftentimes when we’re learning about slavery we are looking at all over the world which makes some struggle with feelings connection. at first my exhibit consisted of 5 objects, one is a mural, one a sketch and three is an advertisement but all are located in New York. When I started putting together my multi module for the last time I which my concept to not just be about slavery but to show how African Americans are still being mistreated and racially discriminated against even after slavery. Most of the ways are not clear as day like slavery. It’s done in a strategic way that its considered legal so many New Yorkers are able to turn a blind eye to it. Sometimes the same ones against us slip up and makes a public mistake that makes it possible for us to finally rally together and speak up, while having proof of racially driven injustice..
