The activity taught capillary action (water climbing against gravity) and color mixing, while reinforcing prediction and observation skills. Students compared it to rainbows in nature and plant water absorption. The experiment sparked curiosity, teamwork, and excitement as they watched their rainbows grow.

Working collaboratively, partners observed how the mixture of this acid and base created an impressive foaming reaction. Some pairs experimented by adding more vinegar to create bigger eruptions, while others tried adding a drop of food coloring for colorful lava effects.

Through this hands-on activity, students not only learned about basic chemical reactions but also developed teamwork and communication skills as they conducted their experiments together. The classroom was filled with cheers of delight as each pair's volcano erupted successfully!

Furthermore, students in First Steps in English were also invited to create their own restaurant menu. The children learned what the menu should compose of and what it should look like including restaurant name, sub-heading, unique menu items, and pricing of each individual item.

Students imagined themselves as kings, queens, princes, and princesses living in a castle, with knights to protect them. We read fun storybooks like The Little Castle, The Dragon Eggs, and Little Dragon, which sparked our creativity.

We also practiced holding our pencils correctly to improve our writing skills. To make our experience even better, we sang cheerful songs like "Happy Dragon" and the "Castle Song". This fun exploration helped us connect with the theme and share our ideas in exciting ways.

We were really looking forward to welcoming you to show you what we have learnt so far in our Open Session however, we are glad that we are all safe and well :)

As children collaborate, they engage in teamwork, learning to take turns and communicate effectively. Imagining various characters leads to plenty of running, jumping, dancing, and pretending to fly, offering a fun and natural way for them to stay active.

We also worked collaboratively towards preparing for our performance. We made costumes, created two sets of backdrops to set the scene, and of course practiced for our show! Our show included lots of ensemble work, great jokes, and even a dance at the end!
