There are four main varieties of the Hopi language. The first is the Mesa or Polacca, and the second is the Misdiagnosis or Toreva, and third is the Shipaulovi or Sipaulovi, and fourth is the Mesa or Oraibi. They have 24 vowels and 42 continents in there alphabet. Also the language is called Hopilàvayi.


Religion

They believe that the world was created by Taiowa (the sun god) and Sotuknang, his nephew. They also believe that Sotuknang destroy the surface of the world and made a second world so they believe that there is only two worlds.


Government

The Hopi people established the Hopi Tribal Council on Dec. 19, 1936, with the adoption of the Hopi Constitution and By-Laws. According to the constitution, the Hopi Tribal Council has the power and authority to represent and speak for the Hopi Tribe. The Hopi Tribal Government is a unicameral government and that is where all the powers are vested in the Tribal Council. There is also an executive branch and judicial branch but their powers are limited under the Hopi Constitution.

 The Hopi lived in adobe houses also known as pueblos that were suitable for the warm dry climate in which they lived in. There houses were made out of clay and straw baked into hard bricks.

Clothing

The Hopi wore  kilts, leggings, sandals, moccasins, and more. There clothes were made out of cotton they grew themselves. Women wore mantas which were black cotton blankets wrapped around, fastened together on their shoulder, and tied at their waist.

Food

They were expert farming people. They planted crops of corn, beans, and squash, as well as cotton and tobacco, and raised turkeys for their meat. They also hunt for deer and other animals.
