ROMANTICISM AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY. Romanticism in the early 20th century was an important movement that influenced literature, philosophy, art, music, and politics. At this time, also to the young people with this influence wrote many novels. The place where the couples met in social gatherings was called The Parnasillo in Madrid, where women and men met.
The courtship at this time was elegant, it was presented in the upper-class families. When girls reached marriageable age, they organized many dances so that they would meet young people of the same age.

Second trip: The Berlin Wall

When we traveled in our machine to the past, it took us to November 9th, 1989, next to the Berlin Wall. At the time when the people on both sides of the wall were armed with strong tools to try to bring down this great building, there was a large crowd, shouting, and running, everyone breaking the wall, and also had their spirits up as if celebrating a great triumph.

We arrived in the middle of the people and stones and sticks were falling everywhere. A large stone was coming straight at us and, at that moment, a hand grabbed our arm, and pulled us out of there, preventing us from hitting each other.

That hand belonged to a tall and strong man, and he took us to a park a little away from the wall to save us from the blows. Thereafter, he began to tell us this story: I am Kark kagerfekd, I was born in 1933 in Hamburg, a city near Berlin.
My father was swedish, and my mother was german.

I'm a fashion designer and I'm trying to get ahead, but since I also like photography, I came to take photos of this important moment in my country.

In 1949 the two new Germanies had been founded exclusively. Socialist East Germany was wracked by poverty and convulsed by strikes in response to its new political and economic systems. The brain drain and labor shortage that resulted in the GDR closing its border with West Germany in 1952, making it much more difficult for people to cross from “communist” to “free” Europe.

However, when the second world war started in 1939, everything became very confused, and the government began to divide by political, economic, social, and cultural ideals. In general, all this caused a division in our country, although, people could go from one sector to another freely.

Nevertheless, the most important part that has remained standing in the area is known as the East Side Gallery. There you can walk 1.3 kilometers of the wall decorated with impressive paintings that reflect many events related to the wall.

The fall of the Berlin wall marked the end of East and West Germany, if not also, the socialist political model. The transition to a capitalist model, beyond that the lifting of the said wall destroyed many homes.

To conclude our story, that is the reason why I am here taking photos; to be able to publish and remember special moments with the fall of this wall, which is a special moment for humanity and especially for the people who still live here.

In short, when Kark finished telling us this emotional story, they had already knocked down a large part of the wall in the sector where we were and we could see how the

people who were next to each other, still not knowing each other, hugged each other.

In conclusion, for us, this was a very, interesting trip.
