Per square inch of the hand there are 600 million touch receptors that are for light touches and sensations. I am truly amazed that we have that many receptors dedicated to just light touches on our hands. This is new and intriguing information, that opens many doors to new inventions and innovations for prosthetics.

Like wires some of our key nerves are insulated by a sleeve of fat to keep the electrical signals from interfering with one another. I am surprised by this cause I would have never suspected that our nerves would need protection from other nerves. This was never shared in any of my science classes.

Learning that not only my nose is a heat sensor but also my elbow as well. When it would get cold my nose, hands, and feet, would feel colder than any other part of my body and i always wondered why. Now i know its because my body is trying to keep my core warm and at a steady temperature.

In times of life and death your brain can make choices to give you a fighting chance. I'm not that shocked at what the brain can command the body to do. The brain is the center of all thought and control over the body, plus it knows best what to do in order to keep the body going.
